Chuckie M 341
I am giving this a go for the next 6 weeks during down season before I make a firm decision. I have done 1 ride so far. It felt good as I get used to it. Discuss. Edited December 21, 2020 by Chuckie M
gregb 209
Did you make any other changes to your bike fit?
Chuckie M 341
Not yet. I am getting some custom Bont shoes made up should get them late Jan. I kept the same seat height. The adapters cost me about 35 Euro including delivery. That's a Q coming soon. I know that Jan F has gone this way. custom Bonts with Midfoot built in. Custom drilling🤪 Edited December 21, 2020 by Chuckie M
Mr Tinman 323
Been doing it for years as I had issues trying to run off the bike and calves used to instantly cramp. I use speed play pedals along with the extender base plate. Ended up using the same position on roadie and track bike as well. Still use it today as my calves cop a flogging with my day to day work. You may or may not need to drop your seat depending on the effective difference in leg length of your original position vs base plate plus cleat set back

Chuckie M 341
a few rides in and it's becoming the norm. I am doing a few hills and sprints, mainly traffic light dashs. It is wet season here now. I just look for a dry window, it mainly rains at night and AM at the moment.🤪

goughy 3,797
When I was using my cleats slammed back as far as I could, would have been a few years ago now, I only once just clipped my front wheel on a tight turn. But it was only barely a touch really. Not enough to make me fall or cause an issue. Since my bike fit I've kept my cleats exactly where the fitter positioned them.
