Guest Jim Shortz
Thought about going down in December to plod around for the distance. Especially since the official event was cancelled. Won't now as there'll be too many others. Maybe in Feb. Post viral fatigue dependant

Stikman is 'racing', I will be manning the greatest club tent in history. I'm on a surgical list and was supposed to be done by now, but it's becoming increasingly likely it'll be right on top of the half, so I decided to just stop training and be a fat lazy slob instead. So are you going to change your name to Fatz? ☺️ Edited September 21, 2020 by BigRig

There was a 4 way competition, handicapped based on average IM times over the years, between me, Stikman, Ratdog and Humdrum. She was coming over as it was to be on her birthday. We were still talking about doing an IM distance on the day, just with HD in SA. She may not be willing to consider it at the moment though. Might give her a week or so before I bring it up again. I'm skinny and fit now, you are all going down! Just need to grow some skin on my ass again. 1

Youngy2 156
My hubby got his registration link as well yesterday for the 70.3, I havent' got mine for the IM - but thinking now we will try transfer to Cairns -- least that should be good as we live in QLD -- and since the border isn't opening until at least April 2021-- the WA premier might just keep it closed until a vaccine is rolled out ( maybe 2022? ) 🤬
Ironnerd 892
The email you receive after registering does not have the Cairns error.
Popular Post Ironnerd 892
Today should have been IMWA. I have seen a few posts on FB of people going down to Busso for a weekend of swimming, cycling and running. Given that there is very little international travel and most states still have to quarantine to go to WA the event organisers decision to cancel IMWA was the financially correct one. For the last 16 years I have spent the first weekend of December in Busso. It is always a great weekend catching up with friends and pushing myself to my physical and mental limits. This year, for me, the nearest swimming pool is 600+km away. The mine site gym is closed due to Covid restrictions, so no exercise bike. So I took the morning off and "ran" a half marathon in -20C (-27C with the wind chill). The only spectators were some very disinterested camels.

Popular Post Katz 1,652
I'm in Busso. I've got 8kms to go and I've finished the IM distance over the weekend. Doing it over 3 days is almost as tough as doing it over 1. Especially when you haven't trained. Stikman and Ratdog (and Mrs Ratdog) are here too. Neither of them were interested in joining me for the lot, but have done a little bit of riding and running with me. 9
Peter 4,257
Nice. The Ironman over 3 days is a great challenge. Nice work.

Last 9kms of the run done this morning. Glad it's over! Funny you should ask that Ironnerd. They say there is no beer mile because it wasn't a 'real' Ironman. Jerks. I am sure they are just jealous as they wouldn't be able to participate being DNFs and all.
Ironnerd 892
They are definitely jealous of your athletic prowess Katz. Yet another race where you have beaten Stikman over the line. You have boasting rights for the next 12 months - IMWA 2020 champion. 1
