Don't disagree with any of this.

But the fact remains, it was the Security Guards that did the wrong thing.  One might suggest that if people are supposed to be in Quarantine then they are supposed to stay where they are and have limited contact with other people.  If you don't understand that, maybe you don't have the smarts to be a security guard.

It is the Security Guards and their cheapskate employers who should be really feeling the heat. If they had done their job properly, then its likely that this wouldn't have happened.

And theres absoluely no guarantee that this wouldn't have happened with Police or ADF doing the security work.

We've heard that this work was given to them (worth 10's of millions of $) without them needing to tender for it or prove they were capable (as an aside how the hell does a contarct of that magnitude get sole sourced nowadays??).  There's been no mention of any requirement that they had to be of a certain standard, have the correct processes and procedures in place and no mention either of any supervision/auditing by the appropriate department that they were up to scratch.  The inquiry has made no mention so far that they failed and no government minister has so far tried to pass the buck onto them, just onto each other.  This has been a complete stuff up by both the pollies and the civil servants with catastrophic impacts and there is an absolute need for accountability.  If this has happened here you can guarantee that it is also happening across a range of other initiatives but we won't hear about them because they haven't had the same level of scrutiny.

Agree.  Just need Dan to stop talking about it for 90 mins a day, day in and day out and stop reporting the numbers.  Then we'll all start getting on with our lives.

Yep today in Sydney there were no new cases, but there was a diagnosis of an old case that was not diagnosed at the time.

I avoid the news for as long as I can each day. It really helps mentally.

For example, I have no idea of the numbers today.

I agree, but he would only speak for 20-30 minutes if the journos stopped asking the same inane questions trying to work their angle.

I think the reporting of numbers is important but that is not done pre-presser by DHHS anyway.

Once a week press conference is heaps.

What angle? Day after day he has been found to be hopelessly incompetent and full of shit. Just today they have had to pull private security out of the hotels and replace them with police.. Even though according to Dan they weren't providing security... After all this disaster he still cant get it right, what an absolute Muppet

"Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has repeatedly stumbled during questioning over the latest hotel quarantine disaster.

Spotless staff working at Melbourne’s Novotel quarantine hotel were abruptly pulled by the state government yesterday and replaced with police after a worker voiced concerns over potential infection control breaches.

Mr Andrews was peppered with questions about the scandal during this morning’s press conference, but one simple question repeatedly tripped him up during an awkward and confusing exchange.

It has been widely reported that the staff in question were private security guards, which Mr Andrews disputed – but he was unable to confirm what role the workers were actually fulfilling.

A volley of questions about what the workers were doing followed, with Mr Andrews giving a series of vague answers before a frustrated reporter asked point-blank if the staff were “cleaners or security staff or support workers”.

Mr Andrews’ final answer was unclear, leaving reporters none the wiser."

So now you can root a prostitute.

but can’t sit down for a coffee in a park let alone a cafe. Fine is $1652 if you drink a coffee on a park bench.

Brothels should start selling coffee.  It'd be a pleasant change most coffee shops are just full of wankers.

How do you reckon you'd go saying to the Mrs, I've been at the brothel, but just for a coffee

They keep asking the same questions because he never answers them.

In the Monday press conference One journalist asked why 5 was the limit in the below.

  • You can socialise with your household members or up to five people outdoors (including you) from a maximum of two households. You must be able to keep at least 1.5 metres distance between yourself and others when doing so.

The reply was  'Because that is the advice that the health department provided" or words to that affect.

2 questions later, same guy, so Dan, going back to that 5, why cant that be 10?

3 questions later, same guy, Dan, how did you come to the number 5.

What is he meant to say?

We wanted to go to a cafe last night up here for our anniversary.  Didn't really want a restaurant.  Couldn't find a cafe open after about 4pm (there used to be several).  Just the new norm up here I guess.  Fish and chips worked for us; even better when they gave my order to someone else so had to remake it and then also refunded me....... #winning

Seriously...WTF is going on!!!!

"The accuracy of Victoria’s coronavirus death toll is being brought into question following allegations government officials attributed deaths to COVID-19 even when doctors were unable to verify a cause.

Ramsay Health Care chief executive Julia Morgan made the claim in an internal COVID-19 staff update seen by NCA NewsWire.

The correspondence was sent out on August 7, shortly after one of Ramsay Health Care’s private hospitals received a transfer of ill elderly residents from St Basil’s Home for the Aged.

“As you are aware, nine aged care patients were admitted to Glenferrie on 27 July. Sadly, four of these patients have since passed away. We are unable to verify the exact cause of their death, but the State has officially attributed the deaths to COVID-19,” Ms Morgan wrote."

There have been similar claims world wide.  Not sure how at is good for anyone to over estimate deaths?

Any chance you could post a link or details of where these quotes come from?

So in other words the whistle blower got the chop...

"When NCA NewsWire tried to contact Ms Morgan, Ramsay Health Care advised she was no longer working with the company after only stepping into the role earlier this year."

"The Camberwell doctor said it threw the Government’s modelling into question. The Government is using this data to enhance the lockdown policy and it’s not accurate,” Dr Wells said."

I find this interesting

Quote

“This is the real problem – the only way of determining the cause of death is with a post-mortem,” Dr Geoff Wells said.

“But the deceased are either cremated or buried straight away, and it’s not possible to say with certainty if they died from COVID-19 or with COVID-19.

“If someone got coronavirus and suddenly became unwell very quickly then it’s likely they died from the virus, but if they had bad underlying health conditions and died with the virus the cause of death remains uncertain.”

He'll probably stay asymptomatic, as luck would have it!  Honestly, even if he ended up in ICU, I couldn't see him changing his narrative like Johnson did.

Alternatives off the top of my head.

1.  He is faking it so he can come out in a week and say “told you it’s harmless!!”  Maybe with another one of those letters from his doctor saying he is the fittest president ever.

2.  Caught it deliberately to give to Biden.

3.  Will now say the election has to be delayed / result is not legitimate if he loses because he couldn’t campaign.

Either way no doubt he is getting the best medical care so hopefully he comes through ok (despite what I think of him he is still a human).

I think he is in a win/win situation TBH, he can bow out, delay the election as you said, or recover and prove how 'strong' he is etc...like a bloody movie this U.S politics caper

Just heard that he can't delay the Presidential election but Congress can. The 'expert' said he can't see that happening with the Democrats controlling Congress at the moment.

If he gets really sick can they send in a 'super sub' or is it too late?

Qld opening the border to NSW on Nov 1 if no community transmission for 28 days.  I think that goal period ends on Oct 21st.

The Qld election date is Oct 31st.

If NSW had a case of community transmission on Oct 22nd what happens?  Do they honor the 28 days, or does Queen Anastasia say all bets are off till after the election to boost my White Knight chances?

Comrade Dan, bit by bit tur ing Victoria into a communist state... Your CCP buddies would by proud. What I want to know is where are all the lefties who are normally against this type of thing??

"A former top cop has hit back at Daniel Andrews, saying the Premier “thinks he is God” after he dismissed criticism of his proposed new police powers as a “power grab”.

Former Victorian Police chief commissioner Kel Glare urged Mr Andrews to listen to feedback on his controversial COVID-19 Omnimus Bill.

If passed it would allow the Andrews Government to appoint anyone as a designated officer with the power to arrest anyone with COVID-19 (or their close contacts) who the authorised officer reasonably believes “is likely” to breach an emergency direction."

Both sides of the coin.

Fark me.

Sooner I can make some coin on this place I'm in and relocate to the middle of f@cking nowhere the better.
