Ditto, happy days in the legends (non-competitive wave - at least I can use that as a bargaining chip with the cardiologist) and did I mention the free entry (30 y club) AND free VIP tr

Cranky, I'm pretty sure there was a post a few months ago where you were talking about doing too many sessions on the bike in a week, and when I said you weren't over-training for OD I got shot d

He's a Clydesdale.. that is clearly his thing...

I'm in the last wave - Family Team 9.31am.  My wife is worrying about her cyclist cutoff time.  Is there one?  If so, what is it?  Mind you, I think she'll do the 40kms in about 1:15-1:20 (AVS 31-21kmh) so even if I don't start till last, surely she'll be OK?

She will be fine. There would be cut-offs, but they take into account the start time of every wave.

On a unrelated note. Two people have drowned off Noosa beach in the last week. The latest was this morning.

if this is the case, maybe they'll dig out the thermometer they used a few years back when they first made it a beach swim....

My wave is 45 minutes later than last year. This time I'm at around 8am.

I'm in the 'heavy dudes' cat.

If I switched to my age cat, I get a 45 minute earlier start as well.

Wonder if its worth going earlier?

Do it. Get into the beers sooner. If that's your thing.

Hi all, over from England and racing noosa for the first time, what are the expo's like? Looking to get a new pair of goggles for it and wondering wether to get a pair before or get a pair there. Hoping it's not a wetsuit swim too as I'll have to buy /hire one!

This made me giggle. Foher will be having a....wait for it....'hair braiding stall' at the expo. Because the most important thing for females is getting the braid right apparently.

Mate I wouldn't buy my goggles the day before a race if I were you, esp a 1.5 k open water swim.  Those are something I'd want to have tested a few times and be pretty use to before race day.

The expo is good, a lot of the new and latest things, and a lot of hype too. Noosa is great though, you'll love it. Good luck

Legends wave 6.41 happy days

AND

free VIP trackside invite for the weekend (inc refreshments) (don't know why  - but thanks IM)

this is such an expensive weekend for me, spending a whole $100 on accom and pizza :)

Is your idea of cheaper and my idea of cheaper the same?  Is the junction better than it used to be?  Used to remind me a bit too much of Toowoomba, but I guess I was parking a Kingswood there back then.  And there was no Sheraton down at the heads.

My in-laws had a holiday house at Peregian Beach, and we always went to the Junction. More variety in cuisine rather than just expensive crap along Hasting St that would leave you hungry. I didn't mind the Mexican that used to be upstairs on Hasting, but other than that it would be the Junction.

Ex Hasbeen, Montezuma's has moved from Hastings Street and is now located in the junction. Along with three or four Japanese restaurants a Korean restaurant three or four hipster style restaurants lead by the Village bicycle.

Noosa Tri didn't have a clothing sponsor you had issues with, did they?

They had their own problems with the same brand. Ever noticed a rival expo in the hotel ball room? That would piss WTC off big time.
