Although Vlandys still gives the impression he has Mafia connections, pulling the Storm out of Victoria when they did was smart. The sheer demographics of the AFL competion makes things very complicated.

The Broncos visited an orphanage in Brisbane today. “It’s heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope” said Johnny, age 6.

I’ll just leave this here.

Agree. The afl moving the eagles and freo and port Adelaide and Adelaide was a massive mistake.
should have done the exact opposite.

PV is a smart guy.  Great for nrl.

The AFL season will be difficult to salvage imo

Yeah basically the talk down here now is that everyone thinks the 2020 season is a joke and they should just give up.

Of course some will change their minds if their team actually wins the whole comp

It must be fun preparing to play a team, and then 4 days out from the game told you are playing a different team. No idea how they are going to manage the quarantine periods to get out of Vic. Maybe run 3 x conferences (Vic, Western, Qld/NSW) and have a lay weekend where teams can serve their quarantine after a reshuffle. Play 4 games, shuffle, play 4 games, shuffle, etc.

they should move half to Brisbane and the other half to WA.

Until those places have outbreaks and then reassess

Gees who would want to be a NRL ref.  Copping from the commentators, players and fans all game and then on Monday your boss publicly lays into you as well.

Graham Annesley concedes Manly Sea Eagles were denied penalty

From memory he's done a "the refs got it wrong" presser every week since the comp restarted.

Reckon he should just STFU and show some support his whistle blowers.

what a fall they have had, im not even sure signing dan andrews as coach could make them any worse.

Latrell Mitchell could have a few weeks to think about the value of running in swinging. I really don't know how he didn't get a sinbin for what he did.

Based on recent charges, If he doesn't get at least Grade 3 then the Match review committee should just be disbanded.  And then at  another 1-2 weeks for the high shot.

So Mitchell gets 2 weeks for running across and throwing a swinging arm at Josh Reynolds out of play.

The week before Joey Leilua gets 4 weeks for the same thing.

The difference (from SMH)

Quote

The Sun-Herald can reveal the key difference is the NRL's match review committee felt Mitchell was reacting to a teammate being kicked in the head and, therefore, there was provocation. In Leilua's case, the MRC felt there was no extenuating circumstances for the hit on Edwards, although Leilua was angry about an earlier hit on his brother, Luciano.

Apparently sticking up for a teammate (which is a deliberate act) means you've committed a lesser crime.

What an absolute crock.

How have they not sacked their coach yet?

My guess...photos😆

Must be bloody good photos because I cannot see how Seibold can possibly salvage the season from here.

Coaches have been sacked for less.

Speaking of NRL.... Anyone got the goss on all the Anthony Seibold rumours that are hush hush and said to be untrue. They supposedly relate to a personal/family issue.

The rumours  range from raging alcoholic, coke abuse, sleeping with one or more teammates wives and also the Katoni Staggs video girl.

Should be interesting. I reckon the players are just over the season and looking for a way out.

Go the doggies!   Just glad its not us for once.

This may actually be a brilliant plot to have Anastacia pull the pin on NRL in Qld, and therefore throw the season into disarray. Broncos can't be the wooden spooners if there is no competition.

I honestly dont get why its in Qld anyway. Majority of teams are from NSW (Sydney) just move it back and make the Vics and whats left of the Qlders move south.

Thanks for the offer but the Cannon Hill Stars Under 7's have been signed up to fill the gaps.

They'll be available to start training as soon as they've finished their homework.

Already positive signs.  The new kids are staying in isolation - playing games on their games consoles.

Reports that Seibold has accepted a payout from the Broncos to walk away. Hot tips are Kev Walters to take over next year.

I wonder if the legal action against the rumours circulating about his family will still proceed, or whether it will disappear as a part of the settlement. If it does disappear you could start to draw conclusions about where they started.

Could be some salary cap drama for the Broncos soon too.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/broncos/nrl-2020-tevita-pangai-jr-thirdparty-broncos-deal-investigation-breach-notice/news-story/30d97d9c9a963a57a2a84616f2b91b3d

Maybe we will finally find out how they financed most of the state of origin team to play for the club for years.

Nothing to see here.

His complaint is that he never got paid the money, so it doesn't affect the salary cap. :)

I reckon there is a filing cabinet getting a thorough clean out at Broncos HQ quick smart.

Ask the Roosters.  They'll tell you how we did it  :)
