Merv 362
Although Vlandys still gives the impression he has Mafia connections, pulling the Storm out of Victoria when they did was smart. Ex-Hasbeen 8,122
It must be fun preparing to play a team, and then 4 days out from the game told you are playing a different team. No idea how they are going to manage the quarantine periods to get out of Vic. Maybe run 3 x conferences (Vic, Western, Qld/NSW) and have a lay weekend where teams can serve their quarantine after a reshuffle. And then at another 1-2 weeks for the high shot. So Mitchell gets 2 weeks for running across and throwing a swinging arm at Josh Reynolds out of play. The week before Joey Leilua gets 4 weeks for the same thing. The difference (from SMH) Quote The Sun-Herald can reveal the key difference is the NRL's match review committee felt Mitchell was reacting to a teammate being kicked in the head and, therefore, there was provocation. In Leilua's case, the MRC felt there was no extenuating circumstances for the hit on Edwards, although Leilua was angry about an earlier hit on his brother, Luciano. Apparently sticking up for a teammate (which is a deliberate act) means you've committed a lesser crime. What an absolute crock.
