Year of first Tri race?

  1. rory-dognz

    IMNZ 2020

Under 2 months to go, who is doing the race? My training is going well, endurance is building nicely in the swim and on bike. My run will be what it will be. So far this year all my swimming has been in the sea. Slight changes to the bike course this year which I can't see making much difference.
  2. So, the other night Katz and I were at my parents house and I was showing her a photo up on the wall that dad took at IMWA in 2013. He won a big award for it and is rightfully proud but I was having a laugh pointing out how many were touching and staring at their watches when we noticed something else in the hands of a competitor near the bottom of the photo. Almost five years ago is it in any way worth bringing to the attention of the current RD? Does anyone know the competitor in question? I won't use his name but it's easy to find through past results.

    IMWA 2017

Five days out and not a single thread. Where is the love everyone? Heading over for the full distance from QLD on Thursday. Looks like warming up for the weekend. PJ on start list for the Pros Hope everyone feeling in good shape for the IM and 70.3. Cap and visor packed so hope to cross paths with a few trannies over the weekend
  4. Hello all, it's been a long time since I've been an "active member" on the forum but thought I'd post my race report from IMWA for those interested. IRONMAN WESTERN AUSTRALIA – RACE REPORT (M30-34 AG) This was to be my 7th iron distance race but first under the guidance of Alex Price of AP10. There was quite a shift in the way that my training was being done but most notably there was an increase in intensity in almost all elements of my training but primarily my bike. I signed up for Busso after not having the race I wanted to in Port this year and was really keen to have a good, solid r

G'day all Been consistently training since August last year. Only missed 30 days in this time, longest consecutive period was 3 days in February '17. The thing that I've noticed is that I have plateaued in the pool and on the bike. Pool fitness is ok, doing what I need to, averaging 8km a week, aerobic strength focused. Maybe stroke correction coaching is the next step?? Bike is where I haven't really gotten any stronger/faster/fitter in the past 6 months. Once again, aerobic strength focus, long periods in the aero position etc. But I am not getting any fas
  6. Cairns Pro field is announced. No mention of Cranky though??? http://transitions.org.au/index.php?a=603
  7. Hello all, I haven't been active on this forum for a little while now but always love reading race reports so thought I'd share my experiences from Sunday's IM: IRONMAN AUSTRALIA – RACE REPORT – Scott Connolly (M30-34 AG) This was my 7th iron distance race now, and my first triathlon since doing IMOZ in 2015 so I was low in racing exposure over the past 12-months. My goals for the race, which I kept relatively quiet, were to come between 5th and 10th in my age group and PB in my overall placing for the race (my best result was 70th overall in IMOZ in 2014). I knew coming into this rac
  8. IRONMAN WESTERN AUSTRALIA – RACE REPORT – Scott Connolly (M25-29 AG) This was my 5th iron distance race now, 2nd in 2014 and a race I was quite confident going into. I went into the race with the same mentality as I did at IMOZ where I just wanted to aim to tick the sessions off without too much thought. As always, the goal was just to be consistent throughout the year and I think I hit a pretty good percentage of sessions my coach, Benny, had prescribed. I did a little hit out 6 weeks before at Huskisson sprint just to get a bit of confidence – I came 11th OA and 2nd the AG so I was happy
  9. IRONMAN AUSTRALIA CHAMPIONS BACK TO DEFEND TITLES Australian Paul Ambrose and New Zealand’s Michelle Bremer will both return to the scene of their 2015 triumphs when they attempt to go back to back at the IRONMANAustralia triathlon on May 1. Read more HERE
  10. So again Im sure we all appreciate Josh's insightful, frank and honest input in to the forum both on matters racing and other stuff. Its only right that we all make sure to give him crazy fanatical support as he fronts up for his first Ironman. Frankly depending on his day and who else turns up he could win this and we could have ourselves a member as IM Aus champ. So what do we need to do so that he knows how much Tranny support is out there. Obviously if you are there you should be wearing your hat if you have one and yelling hysterically at Josh, as there may be times when he i

  12. Well, with less than 4 weeks to go to IM Cairns, I was wondering if there would be any takers for a Beer Mile on the Monday 15 June at 3:00pm on The Esplanade just North of last year's Beer Mile, so we are out of the security cameras view. The Beer Mile location is approx 2 kms North of last year's finish line and expo. Also, it is located about 200M North of the toilets opposite Coral (Trannie) Towers. If you want to participate then post here, but after the very successful IMOz Trannie Beer Mile 2015, we have blown the budget (again), so you will have to bring your own 4 cans of beer
  13. OK so apart from free wifi and snacks, doing media for Trannys means I have the opportunity for 1 on 1 interviews with the athelets as per this Between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Friday in the media centre at Rydges Michelle Gailey, Lisa Marangon, Pete Jacobs, Paul Ambrose, and Luke Bell will all be available. I have to book in to get my slot so don't have much time but if you have some good questions Id be happy to put them forward for you. Put your athlete name and question here and if there are a few good ones Ill book in and ask them for you. Over to you guys.
