A Fatwa was issued for the use of all vaccines. If they are making noise they are being difficult just for the sake of it.

Mrs got the second shot today. Eldest kid 2nd two days ago and my second back in December. Uptake of vaccine where I am has been huge. 5 million doses out already in a population of 10 million. Some first, some second but even if they were all both that is still 25% of the population. Hoping OZ can see similar numbers soon.

My thoughts exactly. Australia and NZ have done an amazing job at containing and excluding the virus from the population. The issue as I see it is that due to that, the population is very much at risk and should they wish to reopen borders a robust program should have been in place months ago.

UAE has done just short of 4 million doses (no delineation between first and second) at 160k/day. Logistically far easier than OZ though as 10 million people all live in an area that takes about 3 hours to drive from end to end Since xmas have been seeing around 4000 cases/day so will be interesting to see if and when the cases start to significantly drop.

If that's true it is laughable. I live in a muslim country and it is illegal to sell sanitiser with less than 70% alcohol. Their religious rules refer to consumption of alcohol not the use of it for other means.
