NSW won't lock down, won't mandate masks. Just asking people to "please" wear a mask indoors and don't get toegther in big gorups on NYE". So every other State is just locking them out. What a cluster####. 10 new cases today in Vic and NSW, on NYE.
-
Just saw that. I'm waiting to hear how they are going to manage border communities, where we often work and live on different sides of the "border". Families, medical, work.......... there was a helpful border region last time, so lets hope Vic does similar.
-
Someone I know has been selling that line to me too. Calls it the "Great Reset".......... a consiracy of rich folks like Bill Gates to depopulate the earth, reset international travel, big events etc. Also mentioned "Agenda 21"
-
Yep, just read that. Those 3 got it form one person who had travelled back from NSW and ate at the Blackrock cafe
-
So there goes any nye gatherings on the previous limits. NSW should do more.
-
And just like that, masks mandatory indoors again in Vic. NSW........ let's see what their PC says at 11
-
They would have id say. Dan gave a couple of days notice for Victorians to get home, nicely asking people who were travelling from there to self isolate for 14 days from when they were there. Guess they thought sales were more important. Or, they were there on the 12th (this thing started on the 11th). Then again, thi

So the 3 cases in Melbourne came form the Sydney NB cluster. Then they went to the Boxing Day sales at Fountaingate. Oh bugger.
-
Wait till new years eh? Asking and expecting people not to gather on new years is wishful thinking. #### Sydney

Sydney germs finally made it to Victoria. Duckit. Northern Beaches people have no idea what "stay at home" means, and GB didn't help matters by still allowing so much movement . Mandatory masks in supermarkets and such are so complacent here. I do, but im in the minority.
-
What part of "don't leave" do northern beaches people not understand?
-
Yep, heard that too. From the premier herself. But wants people to watch from home. I guess Sydney has an international NY fireworks reputation to maintain
-
Interesting. I think there's some states that get you a test on day 5 and 11, and if negative on 11 you can leave quarantine?
-
I'm intrigued about this NB/Avalon cluster. Last 4 days have been 15, 8, 8, 9 new cases. Today over 60,000 tests. (IIRC) But a long list of places those people have been while contagious, who have to isolate regardless of a negative test, due to being Clost Contacts - let alone the casual contacts. If these people were so contagious 12 days ago, and the outer limit everyone is using for showing symptoms is 14 days......... where are all the people that caught it at those venues right across Sydney? I know people have been more hygeine aware, but up to that point, venue

There a bloody long list of locations in and around Sydney now. Jeez. Some saying isolate for 14 days even if you get a negative test.
-
It's separate from the truck stop with the food court, right? More down at the dog on the tuckerbox?
-
One posiitve picked up from Sydney, arrived in Vic. Stopped at Gundagai food court on the way down - so now thats on a watch and wait too. Damn. Ring fence Sydney.
-
into Victoria? You won't be able to I don't think. Border shut to all travellers form Sydney. Greater Sydney or Central Coast – Red Zone From 11:59pm Sunday 20 December, Greater Sydney and the Central Coast will be in the ‘red zone’. New South Wales residents who live in or have visited or travelled through these areas in the last 14 days are no longer allowed to enter Victoria. If you try to enter Victoria in breach of this order you will be subjected to 14-day mandatory hotel quarantine and subject to a fine.

I think NSW should do more ot keep the genie in the Sydney bottle. Seems to be a bit wishy washy allowing people to still leave Sydney, and no mandated mask wearing. They're just then making the other States shut down to all of NSW. Yep, can't offend the rich white part of Sydney.
-
It's not the same. otherwise, when it takes 4 hours to get an ambulance to a city person instead of 4 minutes, we would just say "meh, thats just like living in the country, so normal, so suck it up princess". Lets not make ths about city V county folks travel times and choices. This is a State V State border closure issue that could just be a ring aorund Sydney. Stick some rego chekcing cameras on the highway and pull over rego's from Sydney. When the exempt and allowable postcodes for Victorians goes as far as bendigo. I just think it can be done better w

And just like that the orange barricades are back, now stopping Vic bound traffic on a one lane bridge . Traffic is banked up for kilometres.
-
It was never the actual permit that was the problem as a cross border resident. It's the roadblocks, extra time, stopping, shwing something, which could be multiple times a day for many locals. Then there's the transport. Thissi the main trucking route Sydney/Adelaide/perth. The bridge here is 1 lane each way. When the closure was on the NSW side, they had 2 checking lanes open at busy times, but 1 truck fills one lane. Albuty wasabysmal - people waiting in queues for hours to get to school, work, doctors, shops etc. They should put any road closure
-
Yep, but its still a PITA if they put border checks in place. Us regional places have the shits on State issues that are just local in the capital city. Try living and working in a border community. We get the worst of every decision, with no cases within a thousand kilometres. A good chunk of us live in one state and work in the other . I manage a cross border team and contractors so I'm well across it. "Just show ur licence"... yeah sounds easy. Except when it adds 40min on a 5 min trip. Because 3 people in northern Sydney couldn't isolate when waiting for the

State complacency. I'm glad I overthought things a few weeks ago and the "what if..." scenario and got my my mum down for a visit. Will miss Christmas, but glad i made the effort in November when the border was open. Not regional Vic, from my cohort . I believe from midnight there will be checks on roads into the State. I'll tell you tomorrow when I have to cross for work. #frustratedregionalvictorianfaceontheborder
