After 10 years, 3 frames with same Ultegra group set (lasted 120,000k).. and being a tight wad, sold my HZ 78 Kingswood and put some of it towards this GiantTCR about a year ago.. totally in love with it, super comfy, love the disc brakes.. I just need to ride it a bit more.. hot and cold last few months.. My Nuske single speed, great for the shops and off for a swim. Azzuri TT race bike.. still goes well, now with Zipp 404s ex Steno..Heds ex ol mate OZhed dude..
  2. Cairns IM 2014...my 7th IM.. decent PB, just turned 50.. 6yrs ago it sure does not feel that long ago....75kg vs 87kg now..only 2kg per year!.😄 Lost interest and felt totally satisfied with my 2014 effort.. Still have my race bike so not hanging up just yet..
  3. Been back at Malabar Pool since they re filled it last week.. not too busy either and feels about 17 deg.. A few swimming in and across the bay but had reports of a few sharks from local Fishos.. 5ft Mako hangs there.. so pool is fine for me..
  4. Hey Trannies.. its been a while.. I have had a few Europa's.. one was my first tri bike, a roadie with clip ons. I am pretty sure John Abeni is no longer with us as not seen him outside his shop Europa Cycles at Kenso for years. I know his son Allan might still be there.. John was one cranky man..   9. back in the day I was averaging 12-14hrs per week which worked fine (50yr old)... having done one each year for 6-7 years and trying to be consistent the rest of the year - 6-8hrs PW. Mega work weeks 50hrs, no kids and a great partner who was super supportive and helped a lot with my diet.. (and having naps on the weekend ha). and a good coach and mentor.. Mr AP.. got me to lots of start lines in good shape especially mentally.. yes I was pretty soft for a few years too..

  16. ok I will admit - My first IM 13.05 at 43yrs old Did 6 more all under 13hrs PB on my 7th go at 50yrs old - 11.29 Now 54.. not as fit as at 50 but never say never doing another one day... hmmmm.. My motto always was.. race to finish and a good time is a bonus and DNFs are not in my mind EVER.

  20. Hi folks, its been a while, I was one of the original members #13 and had some great times here, learned a lot as well in my 100 ish races. Not been doing of racing a lot past couple of years after Cairns IM 2014 Time to get a new bike, my old one conked after 3 frames on my ultegra group set and 80k on it. Been looking for a new road bike, so much out there and really not a huge budget.   24. Hello, long time no posting.. I am heading out to spectate on Sunday (have been coaching a mate, first timer) - yes its been a while since I raced and kinda strange to go to a race and not be in it. Hope to see a few old heads out there - kinda a bit miffed these races don't fill up any more. Was talking to Mrs Giz last night about the days when we had to qualify to to an IM. Might be time do dust off the gear and get back out there.. She said I ain't done just yet doing IM. - better go find my tranny hat..
