  1. Swim - Water a bit cool.... wind chill on top was bloody chilly. OK swim 17:36 Bike - Miserable and bitterly cold - felt a bit like I had some issues breathing - put it down to the cold. Could not wait to start the run and warm up. Really slowed me down a bit. 51:30 Run - rain stop half way through - body warmed up thankfully, though still did not feel very good. But happy with run overall. 22:47, then 21:22 splits for a 44:10. Transition 1: 1:20 Transition 2: 1:18 This gave me 8th in the 50-54 age group with a time of 1:55:55. Thought I went faster as I did

  4. Long easy easy run. I put in a couple of half hearted MP kms but my head wasn’t in it. The terrible weather meant 3 or 4 stops for coat on/off because I had a loaded vest on. This destroyed my rhythm, so I concentrated on ‘getting it done’ 29km, 139 mtrs, 2:49:14 at 5.50 pace

  12. It appears you had a pt who obviously was doing generic programming. Tell me why you are or want to be doing a kettlebell swing. Give me some context. Are you strength training for triathlon or running or for crossfit? Below is a pic highlighting the forces of running gait of the muscles used. Many athletes run based i see have weak plantar flexors and weak hamstrings not weak glutes.

  13. As I am on the trainer for a few hours i will answer this today. Part 1- context First questions is why are you doing kettlebell swings? Did the pt give a reason why you were doing them? There are a few exercises pts give that are basically used to fatigue you rather then benefit you performance why. Go to any bootcamp or group session and you will always see burpees, jump squats or box jumps and kettlebell swings. They are too fatigue you to give the sense of you have trained but in essence you have just got tired. There is a Difference between training and working out. Traini

  18. Back in semi-freedom, I’ve had 4 days in a row of my commute back up through Mt Dandenong. Reminds me how much I miss just riding in the semi-rural hills, no traffic or traffic lights and fresh air. Cycling can be just fun and mentally refreshing. Around 1200m climb and 80kms each day but it’s just enjoying cycling again.

  19. Nah, she is a real piece of work this one, to be honest Im flabbergasted that any show would give her any air time or any additional fame. She was the girlfriend of an NRL player and lied to him that they were pregnant to try and save their relationship, then claimed she miscarried, then when the relationship ended anyway she accused him of domestic violence. He went through hell on both the "miscarriage" and the DV accusations. She is a right piece of work.

  20. It's not a trail marathon, it's a road one (Eton Dorney). gonna break out the Next%. People say they're expensive but I only use them for road races, which means they should last about 27 years. 😁

  23. I think it just gets to the point where you're making so much money that you can't possibly spend it all and so your wealth continues to rise regardless of what you do. A position I'd seriously like to be in.

  24. Yes. Brisbane often has a CBD pedestrian blitz booking people who cross against the lights. Generally occurs just after a pedestrian has been hit by a car. Whether you like it or not, these are "real" offenders. You can't draw a line in the sand and say some should be booked and others not. If you argue that its not hurting anybody then the counter argument might be that a car driving too close to a cyclist isn't hurting anybody either so why book them? So I don't have a problem with pedestrians or cyclists or motorists being booked for doing the wrong thing.

  25. No. But why do people think that rules don’t apply to them. Then get upset when someone pulls them up for it.
