  1. That was a brutal tough race The water looked calm but on the 2nd lap the chop picked up It was so hot I stopped at each bouy and let water in the front of the wetsuit So so hot on the bike - I didn't push too hard just so I could finish it ( and new course is quite hilly - going over Rex lookout 6 times ) So many people didn't finish- pulled out during the bike or the run. Quite a few went to hospital from dehydration. I usually finish mid field but because not that many were I was at the tail end Happy to say that hubby and I both finished

  3. Thanks AA7. Be interesting to see if everyone takes their spot or if there are a lot of rolldowns. 5 spots in 55-59 males. Sub 13 gets a spot to Kona. Seems like they have been listening to Transitions 🙂

  4. S&C - Deadlifts, Belgian Squats, Kettle Bell Swings, Bosu Balance Ball, Crab walks with band, wall squats with ball behind back have been very helpful for me. Diet - massive reduction in bread & pasta (gluten) & veges, big increase in meat & eggs & seafood = less inflammation all over.

  5. My mother passed away last night (Saturday). Some of you who have in been around triathlon sport and the running scene in NSW for more than a few years may remember her. I'm not sure how many races she completed over the years, but there was a lot. I'm just still only just appreciating all that she accomplished throughout her life. She starting her running in the City to Surf at 51 in 1979, having only commenced training a week before the event. She threw herself into the burgeoning fun run scene of the early 1980s, before eventually running her first marathon in 1983 at the Sta

  6. I got scammed. Yep I feel dumb but posting so others don't get caught. Received a call while was out riding from Vodafone. I was bored and just doing a recovery ride on a local bike path so I took the call via headphones. - I was thinking it could be a scammer so asked for a confirmation sms. They said sure we just need your 4 digit code to send you the verification code. For some reason I gave it to them. Tired, bored, stupid, not thinking. - immediately I get a sms from vodafone (normal practice & It was from a number I had receipted messages from them in the past) confi

  7. That's a pretty good price. I reckon Arizona, Minnesota or New Hampshire could easily flip, and you only need one of them

  9. Touch wood, still feeling pretty good. Ran 4.03 pace off the bike at Redcliffe yesterday. Fastest I've run in years and I actually felt quite comfortable. Swim was heaps better than Sunny Coast, only 10 secs behind someone who was 4mins quicker at Sunny Coast and just over 37kmh avg on the bike. I don't have a record of bike splits, but I think that is probably the best bike speed I've had for years too.

  10. This will be my first ever race report on Trannies. I think I'm a pretty boring racer, don't do numbers, don't pay much attention to nutrition, don't overthink things and just try to have fun and don't take it too seriously. I obviously still try my best, but if I don't get a good result, oh well. I will start with a bit of background to give some context. I have had a troublesome achilles/ heel bursitis issue for several years now which limits my run training. In fact, my training has been crap. I have been able to still run relatively well on limited training though. During the last few

  13. To be honest if not for the recent acts of the Barker boys I linked above I might have agreed it was a gee up. But then the little angels from MSAM College obviously took it seriously https://7news.com.au/news/nsw/monte-sant-angelo-mercy-college-students-film-themselves-in-muck-up-day-antics-c-1347631

  14. Thinking about it more yesterday. The only difference between a legitimate contact call from Vodafone and the scammers was one the sequence of events. The text code, then pin code vs pin code then text code. Still kicking myself I missed it but glad we caught it.

  15. A great website to check for potential breaches is ';--have i been pwned? (pronounced "poned") This website looks at all the publicized breaches and checks if your email address is among the lot of hacked addresses. If you signed up for something stupid and not secure - or even a big one that should know better - it is not so bad UNLESS you tend to use the same password - then you are up shite creek My details have been breached by Adobe, LinkedIn and drop box. They may or may not get the password but they will get all the other data stored along with it such as security quest

  16. As MrFlower pointed out I went to Shore. I have been reading a lot of Old Boy Forums etc and there are a lot of furious old boys. It would appear that the list is very similar or the same that has been going around a heap of schools. So essentially is just a list, however - For me, I was particularly angry about the ‘spitting on a homeless person’ comment and I would be equally furious if one of my kids was involved in anything like this. At these schools there are families who are absolutely loaded with multiple generations having attended...And Then there are those whose parents bus

  17. That sort of behaviour does not make me as suspicious. GC contenders (and their domestiques) have to be ON every day, whereas the stage chasers cruise within the time limit for a few days and then put in an almight effort to win a stage. Off memory there are 21 days of riding over 23 days. If you are only target 4 or 5 stages (to be in the breakaway), you can take it easy and sit at the back every other day. Any time you loose (as long as it is within the cutoff) will make it easier for you to be in the breakaway (less of a threat). And if it is a non-sprinters stage, there isn't much

  20. Tipping they could explain to you In great detail why they dislike Trump. They both have a passion for politics and contribute financially. Matt hosted Hillary at his house for a women leadership talk with his daughter & other women from their area. So yeah I’m confident they could explain it. If ppl would listen is the real question.

  21. I am similar, except that while ever America is seen as the "world leader" then I would like to see someone sensible and level headed at the helm, whichever colour they may be. Its almost like the need two leaders, one for internal politics and one for external politics as it seems like juggling the two is seemingly impossible.

  25. Yeah, I got hammered when I was about that kids age and consequently terrified on magpies for life, though a little better now. Wife also terrified, hence we only windtrainer on the road bikes for now, though I will ride my MTB (less chance of crashing under maggie attack, though I still tend to put it on the car & drive to the single track to ride till swooping season is over). A cyclist mate says we have one here in Douglas St Armidale that actually lands on cyclists backs & pecks their ears.

  26. Got hit really hard to the right side of my head yesterday out at Brisbane Airport. I stared down the first attempted attack but as soon as I turned my head to approach the set of lights he hit me. Put a dent in the side of my helmet. It then chased me the whole way around the pick up/drop off lane until just short of the pedestrian overpass, just hovering over my head snapping its beak. There's also an angry one right out the end of Acacia Street but that was more of a noisy attack than a doing-damage attack.
