14 Day lock down

Recommended Posts

Returned home from Brisbane today.

Who else is in lock down. It's going to be a long 14 day.

I'm planning on zwift racing, movies & ordering Uber eats.

What are others going to do.

My 14 days are up on Thursday night. Thankfully I had some friends willing to do grocery shopping for me. Only being home for two days a fortnight for the last nine months, my cupboards were bare. I haven't ordered take out ever at home.

It's gone quickly. Fortunately, I can work from home, with more nuisance factor than disruption. The project is rolling along thanks to MS Teams, keeping us connected. To keep the humor going, I join each meeting as a different character. Today was the Cat Burgler and his trusty window opening monkey.

Between, work, renos, my personal enforced bootcamp with strength and conditioning routine, wind trainer and running laps around the block. I haven't had time to get bored. Missing the swimming though. Haven't lost any weight which I had hoped to :( (haven't gained any either, phew).

The Regatta/Boatshed Restaurant sold off all their meat stocks last week, prior to shutdown, I couldn't go out to take advantage of the sale.(#firstworldproblems).

NZ has been in lockdown for a week. Not self isolation as such.

me working a bit from home, next few days will be full days then maybe a few hours. I will do some month end stuff, but with manufacturing shut allot of my day to day doesn’t exist.

i get up and walk around long block, so many more people out walking. Use Rouvy most days; last used in November, reading books.

doing a few household improvements with stuff brought before lockdown, but spacing out the jobs.

if I really want a challenge I am going to learn to ride on rollers that I have move houses 5 times and not used.

Are they closing borders between states in Aus?

Partially. You have to have a good reason to cross, and then it's 14 days isolation. The reason the planes were turned back though is the baggage handlers in Adelaide that tested positive.

Lacking motivation. Haven't been on the trainer since I got home.

Luckily we have a two story house, so the girls are down stairs & I have taken over the upstairs area.

My wife is leaving my meals on the stairs for me. I didn't hear her call "lunch time" yesterday & the dog almost got my lunch.

Apart from that I'm doing well. I'm extremely lucky to be in this position. I can work from home and have people looking after me.

There are people living on the streets and have no one to care for them.

It's times like these that make you realise how good we have it.

That cluster seems to be blowing up too, so you could be VERY fortunate.

Every morning before home school starts we have a warm up provided by the school. But today, there was no warm up provided. So I continued Flippers education with Superblood Wolfmoon by Pearl Jam. ( she's a bit young for TOOL)

That's just how far behind the times Adelaide is.

That’s because I got my ass dropped on the climb. Sitting in no mans land, trying to keep my pace up & waiting for the second bunch on the road to catch up

I was the same except was between the 2nd and 3rd bunches...

I was on the beacons wheel at the 10km 'start' of the race but was in 102nd place out of 156 at that point with huge number getting a false start...

My Uncle on Facebook said it's all a government conspiracy anyway, so you totally wasted the last 2 weeks.

(I didn't see any news article about an Adelaide man with donut poisoning, so, I assume you're fine.)

Sister had to go into isolation at home due to the original Burnie hospital issue.  She was nearly finished and then the latest one hit so she is back in iso.   Lucky her husband is an ICU nurse there so they can at least hang out together now.
