Roadies - Look, Time

Recommended Posts

My boss has just asked me to see if I can find out anything about Look and Time carbon roadie frames. He is particularly interested in the durability of them.

Trannie brains trust, tell me what you know.

Look - two (2) years from the original date of purchase, to the original owner.

Time - Your TIME frame is insured for a period of 2 years.

I wouldnt risk either

What's the normal frame warranty period?

What's he planning on doing with it??

Should be 10 years warranty for manufacturing defects.

Trek- lifetime

specialized- lifetime

BMC- 3-5 years

Giant- lifetime

Cevelo- lifetime

Ok, that seems pretty clear then, such a short warranty period suggests they're not much chop.

Anyone had either themselves?

Just make sure that whatever he decides on, Factor or Canyon would be nice, that he gets the right size for you 😉

Factor seem to be the go to brand right now. Baden Cooke rang me today, following up from my previous quer. Seems to be a chilled guy and easy to deal with.

I'm confident my next bike will be a Factor.

I know a pro triathlete who recently had a Factor triathlon bike.......he’ll probably throw it your way for free, you probably won’t be able to use it though

I have no idea I’m not a bike dude, but he is now back on his Trek

Your original post made it sound like a major failure against a Factor frame or component.
Pros changed bike brands due to sponsorship etc.
I would be more than happy to buy the factor off him if he still has it & the $$$ line up 😏

A few of the frames are like that. They just add weight to them to get it to 6.8kg.

I've owned 3 Looks - brilliant. One of the few products not produced out of the Taiwanese carbon factory (I think Giant is largest) where most carbon bike brands are made.
