I'm into Lausanne on the 27th, out on the 3rd.

Watching the open, elites and para.

Doing the sprint and standard.

Total trip 24th - 23rd. Last day of "work" today.   When I come back I have 4 days of drinks and morning teas at my current workplace, public holiday, weekend, then start a new job.

Yeah we are off to Munich (2nd), Vienna (5th) and Berlin (8th). All evening flights booked to maximise the days. Back in Sydney on the 14th.

Good luck all.

Miss Jess,  if you have time, I'd recommend a day trip to Salzburg. The coaches go the pretty way there and the fast way back. We went on New Year's Day, it was picture postcard snowing and Mirabell Gardens and the ice rink were like something out of a film, possibly the Sound of Music.

It’s a long haul from anywhere to Salzburg, especially in September when they are pushing to finish roadworks before first snow.  Plenty to do in Wien for three days.  I could spend all of them in the Kunsthistorischesmuseum. But I would try for a side trip to Melk.

Your version of a long haul and mine must be different. It's about 3.5 hrs there with a coffee stop at the famous service station and a photo op at the SoM chapel and about 2.30hrs back via the freeway.  They pick you up at 6.30am (that bit wasn't fun, we went straight from our NYE ball to the hotel, shower and back out again).

We self drove through Austria (in September after Lausanne Worlds in 2006) and we hit seriously long stretches of roadworks with 60km/hr speed limits on the Autobahnen. Both into and out of Salzburg took way longer than it would normally.  Depends on the season.

Turts and I are in the same AG (40-44)

M Jones is 50-54 and no, I cannot see her name on any of the ACT or NSW qualifiers (Kurnell, Canberra Draft Legal or Forster). 🙄

All previous professional champions get a start when they want.

She was the itu champion twice.

I do believe she wanted a start on the Gold Coast last year but was denied because she hadn't done any qualifying. No problems when they team isn't full though.

11th for me.

Little bit higher would've been nice but I got a head cold the day after I arrived here and felt rubbish.

Brutal course. Non wettie, freshwater swim which was really choppy. The lake had been like a millpond all week.

Bike course was hilly and technical. Some inclines where it pitched up over 15% for short bits. And run course had something like 26 turns or corners. Also with a few very sharp inclines.

But it was a great experience and a beautiful place to visit and race.

Nice 70.3 next?

I did both.

Non wettie swims. Calm for the Sprint, a bit choppy for the standard.

Hills were good on the bike, and the road surface was really good.

Run hills were tough, but the course was terrific.

Far far nicer than Rotterdam.

I had the races I wanted. I wasn't last, beat a couple of people from previous events, and was happy with how it all came together.  As probably my last ever triathlons, I really wanted to nail the undertaking and soak it all up.

I was crook with gastro for the week leading in, and for the first time had to utilise the team doc for some help prior.

Rental bike was awesome.

But now I'm enjoying a 3 week holiday!

Knee. More specifically, the end of my femur.

Need to take an extended break from anything impact. So no significant walking and no running.

Will reassess in 12 months or so, and may do a Johnny F but will see.

Bike and paddling for me for now.

Hey, you stole my signature selfie position - "solo traveler, stunning location, proof you were there but too knackered to show your face."

This has been my signature for many years of solo travel. Short arms mean selfies are useless.
