doing some similar in another group, some pacers go out so hard to breach the time deficit, they blow a lot of people up

Definitely. I've also noticed in years gone by no real indication of gun time vs net time and seeing people trying to hang on to someone running a 1:55 to make up for the delayed start. It's brutal.

We're just going to do our own thing and get him to stick with me and not worry what anyone else is doing.

So around 5.40 pace ?

Yep. 5:40/km buys you 1:59:33. We did 90 minutes at 5:40 exactly and he coped well so we might need that extra 30 seconds to allow for water stations and fatigue and crowds etc.

If you are relying on your Garmin, I would leave some extra buffer and would be aiming for 5:37 or faster.  If you are going by km markers, then sure....

I use my Stryd for distance and speed. Much more accurate than GPS. I don't remember the last time I paid attention to km markers.

I don't think I'll be packing my togs either way.

I will be wearing my pink & black Tranny Trucker as I watch the 10 k tomorrow morning.

Look out for the fat guy with the pie.

So my neighbour got carted to hospital in an ambulance on Thursday. Turns out his hip annoyance wasn't a tight hip flexor, but a 5.6mm kidney stone blocking his right ureter. Poor guy is shattered.

As such, I'm now solo so if any Trannie is running 1:55-2:00 and wants some company, let me know.

I was running, if you can call it that, in my black tranny visor. Didn't see you out there?!

Men's winner forgot to tape his nipples. Japanese runner, at first I just thought it was two little red dots like the Japanese flags on his white singlet.

It did look pretty bad. Just seeing the state of his singlet at the finish made my nips sore

Always good to see the underdog have a win.  A workmate whom i was pacing  had a rough night up with the kids on Sat night.  Was nearly in tears before the race and wanted to drop back to a slower zone.  After a talk and and an agreement reached to continue on smashed her estimated time by 6 min.
