Running track near Chatswood

Recommended Posts

Hey gang,

Got Yassos (800m repeats) to run tomorrow and the oval where I usually go is going to be soggy. Is there a running track that can be used by the public that anyone knows of within (ideally) a 2 - 3km from Chatswood? Can drive to somewhere further away but would prefer not to...

Chatswood Chase underground carpark.

That should stop you poor little feet from getting soggy.

Done. Followed by stair climbs in Westfield.

It's not to do with getting soggy, still happy to hit the trails but there's a real risk of injury when going all out on a slippy field without studs.

There is a grass track down Koorong St in Marsfield (Dunbar Park). Not sure what it's like on the weekend, but it is deserted during the day.

Artarmon Reserve has a paved path around the outside - it's not a perfect oval or anything though

There’s a new oval (Gore Hill) in St Leonards, next to the hospital!

i don’t think you’ll find anything better than that

Yes you will. All the private schools (the GPS ones) have got some of the best ovals in Sydney. Closest to Monkie would be at Northbridge - Sailors bay road.

One oval and 6 others footy fields. Main oval is first class and drainage is impeccable.

Sounds great... can you just turn up and use it on a weekend?

Cheers!

If the gates are open. School holds now. Probably only the grounds men there.

Google the map first. You could also jump the fence on near cnr of Alpha Rd and Foundation Place. You could run there and if you can’t get in....nothing lost....and you still have got a decent run.
