Picking up salt tablets

Recommended Posts

I've been saved by them - went from 8-9min kms with even my biceps cramping to winning my cat by 58min - because someone dropped 3 salt caps with a bit of tape around them - I do have a guardian angel looking after me :innocent:

Maybe it was EPO in tablet form, or some other drug that gives you an amazing boost of strength and speed instantaneously.

How much sodium per hour are most people supplementing with for Ironman? I have never planned salt intake, I think it’s hurting me. My ‘sports drink’ gives me 300mg per hour - should I be more likely looking at 700-800mg?

Sodium/electrolyte use is the most  neglected part for 99% of ironman age group racing and training

most folks should be useing 1500mg per hr and some like myself need upto 3000mg per hr

Where do you get those numbers from? I've never seen anything go that high for sodium.

Are you talking my sodium? Or all electrolytes total? Or just "salts"?

I’m guessing it’s a made up number like the 99% of age group athletes neglect sodium.

Thanks IP, were you tested or just what you found that worked? Bored@ -sometimes just let it go as some of us value the input of others on here.

Depends on how much of a show you like to put on for the spectators?

It would be hard to accuse you not looking excited to be there...
