Cricket World Cup 2019

Recommended Posts

Starts this weekend.

But given only 2 teams have never won, the Indians thought they would take the piss out of South Africa and England.

You're the only Pom I'd be willing to say 'congrats' to :)

And I'm still choking on it

Thanks. If it makes you feel better, I supported Oz against Eng in the semi (mostly to wind up work mates 😎 )

That was very tense yesterday. I needed something to take my mind off of my DNF.   Gotta feel for NZ, they couldn't get a break, especially when the ball hit Stokes' bat and went for a 4.

And it was a bloody Kiwi that won it for them.

Yeah, that's the best bit. 👍

6 weeks was just too long.

Poms had long enough to totally lose form and find it again just in time.

Aussies long enough to lose form at the wrong time.

I did love the close up shot of Williamson being told he was man of the series. :D

When I heard the captains acceptance speech on the radio I got a bit excited thinking Ireland had won the cup.

Wrong decision should have only been awarded 5 runs not 6.  Batsman had not crossed when thrown therefore only 1 run was completed

Actually, I'll edit that, looks like you are right. Now I know what it's like to be Argentinian

NZ to their credit just seem to accept things.

I am pretty sure if it was England,  Australia or India on the losing end of this there would be a bigger issue.

Kane Williamson is a very level headed man, great player and leader of his country.   Many could take hedence to how he goes about things

Must admit, cricket being a ball at a time sport, would have thought with that wrong umpire decision re additional boundary v 5 runs in total of the bat, court of arbitration for sport and you win the World Cup ?  Easy as, the Kiwi’s are freak level good sports.

Cant see how they would rule any other way then to give it to the kiwis.

Yet they still carry on about a single ball that was bowled within the rules in another game of limited overs cricket 38 years ago.

Keep in mind the next two balls were wickets. Reverse the strike and the outcome may have been different. I'm just glad India didn't win the thing.
