IM now runs UTA. I'm racing, and volunteering.

I don't care. I'm supporting the other competitors.

Retired, come back, retired, come back....

Haven't you retired from ironman a couple of times already?

Pity I forgot to tell you I was in Adelaide over the weekend. We could have caught up and I could have explained it in person.

I'm not in a club and train by myself too. I do read lots of stuff though.

I thought you were a red dog?

So are we actually organising a catchup?

Happy for a pub somewhere on Friday lunch/arvo.

Yes I was wondering when to chip back in as the thread seems to keep getting de-reailed somewhat...

I think a swim on the Friday morning at 0730 for those that can make it and then would love do lunch as well.

@Flanman should we set a venue for the swim? It might just be you and me but at least then other people can join at will...

Somebody who knows the place should suggest a lunch venue?

7.30 am it is on Friday. At the swim start - which should have at least a couple of hundred people swimming. I’ll wear my Trannie cap. I’ll get there a little early, take a selfie near something then put it on here.

Now, it’s back to bed. The sniffles have turned pear shaped  with the doc giving me antibiotics.  At least I have a couple of days off and 12 days to get better.

There are a few spots around the Town Green near the finish line. The pub right on the finish line (Beach House) is ok. Fairly average pub food. There is also the Town Green Inn which is also ok from what I hear.

Some people will be at the legends lunch 12:30-14:30 Friday.

Others will be with Family Kids, registering etc.

Why not set a time after rego closes for a quick drink - say :16:30 - 17:30 Friday afternoon on the town green pub...and while the sun is still up. I think as Miss Jess said... The Beach house.

Besides...drinkies means people can come and go depending on time constraints. Eating means getting tables and numbers which is often awkward. Plus.......some of us might be forced to sit next to IronJimbo..... and not get away.......(and begging for musical chairs) :)

If watching World Series cricket taught us anything, it was that mullets make you faster.

I'm totally relaxed about the plan and happy to let people who know the vibe more decide, just keen to get some times in the diary so we don't all end up missing each other (especially as one of the new ones of the gang, I'd like to recognise more people on course).

16:30 sounds good, I have dinner at Town Green Inn from 6pm.

@prizna and I are easy to recognise on course. He will be in his Pikachu hat (if racing) and I will be wearing my Eevee one.

I wouldn't worry. The get together was me and the wife :D

In my head we had made a much clearer plan than re-reading this thread would indicate!

Is everyone shitting themselves? The few I've spoken to today are :)

A but of rain and wind makes for an interesting day tomorrow. Who's about spectating? I'll need a beer after my long run 80mins (if anyone wants to join feel free)
