Years ago I ordered some sub-10 plates the first time I went sub 10hr

never put em on as I quickly grew out of the wank factor (thank Christ) and as I can still go sub 10 as on old fat f#ckwith cancer , so it’s not that hard

eneded up selling them to a dude with a hot street car that goes sub ten for the quarter mile

paid $600 sold em for $2500

only time I’ve ever made a profit on tricathalete crap

But ultraman plates would be acceptable

Already done by the guy who came last in the very first Ultraman in Australia (when it was still an official Ultraman unlike now)

Excuse my ignorance. But how the hell do you live with Cancer? I thought it was a get it, get cured or it spreads kind of thing?

Leukemia

Wow it must be bloody hard to train for an Ultraman while under going treatment. I just googled Leukemia.

The treatment you get depends on the type of leukemia you have, how far it has spread, and how healthy you are. But the main options are:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation
  • Biologic therapy
  • Targeted therapy
  • Stem cell transplant
  • Surgery

I have heard stories of people having cancer and then going into remission (Lance & all the feel good stories on Ironman live) but this is the first time I have heard someone still racing with Cancer.

I guess you wouldn't know what you'd do unless you were living it.

I did 😲, no use just hanging around to see what might happen. Live life to the fullest every day, you never know what is around the corner.

For the record I had surgery 10 days after IM. Coming up to 5 years clear now

Did you manage treatment during training or wait till after Port?

IP how to you manage treatment when you are in Kona for a month or more.

I was after only. Dr said treatment could wait until after IM, but lucky I didn't leave it any longer as the cancer grew significantly but they got it all

Adult leukaemia is different to childhood leukaemia. Childhood leukaemia is curable (thankfully) but adult leukaemia is managed through ongoing treatment ie daily pills.

You can sit around waiting for it to “get you” or get on with enjoying life in whatever way gives you satisfaction.

I have daily treatment , just swallowed some as I type this

I just take enough with me , for the period I’m away , I’m lucky I have a great pharmacist (like lance) and oncologist that will do the paperwork etc that’s needed as my treatment is about $120k a year

lucky I don’t have to pay all that as it’s on the PBS now

if if anyone is half interested I can go through the how why when and what I do to manage my lifestyle living with this dodgy parasite running around my body

Yeah I’m interested. It’s amazing you can still do ultraman extra. Is there any chance the stress you put I. Your body makes it worse.

IP will be the expert on this, but I did a bit of reading a few years ago when a friend had Cancer, and there have been studies that show intense exercise (eg: training, not just jogging) can slow the spread of Cancer, and make treatment easier.

I though the stress On the body would have an effect on the immune system & let the cancer spread quicker. Hence why I’m interested.

Trying to remember back, I'm pretty sure it was the adrenaline that was assisting with the reductions.
