LCW Jervis Bay 2019

Recommended Posts

So. Interesting email that just came through. This year's event, first set for first weekend in April has just been moved to mid November.

Again, quite different from October last year.

I will admit, the added cost for accommodation change was annoying, but manageable.

Question. Has this changed meant anyone has had to pull out? Or indeed, will some people be travelling to Huski in November when they were not planning on doing LCW this year?

It fell off my radar with the April move as I will be focussing on IM. Chances are I won't still be living here by November so it's probably a no from me 😪

Had they dropped a 2019 event and moved it to April 2020 would've been the better plan. Have one a few months after the other wasn't a solid idea for an event that was already struggling to gain traction.

You seem to criticise these organisers a lot.

To quote you to me 'got a bee in your bonnet?'

From the wording, they are trying to move it permanently to November.

Is the long course weekend the same-ish location as Husky in Feb?

No... not if they keep it the same as they have done in the past (which is currently is on the website). The swim and the run are the same but the bike is from Wollongong University which is West Nowra rather than Huskisson.

But it's not far!

I'm not sad. We will have had an incredible four years in an awesome country. An adventure to remember for the rest of our lives. And I'll still be running APAC so I'll be back :D
