Service/Repair for Polar HRMs

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can anyone recommend a repairer/service centre for Polar HRMs - mainly ensuring battery replacements are waterproof etc.

Polar Australia have informed me that they are not servicing old models but only dealing with warranty claims for products sold within past 2 years.  Talk about inbuilt obsolescence!  Any tips recommendations appreciated!

Thanks!

Do it yourself! I changed the battery in my polar edge (1992 model) for 16 years before the watch unit literally fell apart. If you aren't confident nough, go to a jeweller/watch repairer and try them. BTW - don't buy a gamin, you will be forever charging it and bike thieves will follow your movements on strava, so they can steal your bike when you're away from your home. (Equally tongue in cheek comment like the "buy a Garmin one above).

I'm guessing they're the ones who said they won't do it anymore.

Check in Adelaide. They used to have an office that you could post it too.

That one closed a few years ago. It’s out of Sydney now.

thanks all - will investigate the recommendations! BTW its a much loved RS800cx watch/monitor!

I used to change my battery and never had an issue with water leaks.

I have a brand new one of those if you need a new one?

Before I switched to Garmin I took my old polar to a jeweller to change the  battery.

Cost about $30

There are some cheap second hand Garmin units going on Facebook Trimarket place. I notices a Garmin Fenix 3 for $150 last week.

It might be time to change over.
