Yeah it's my first time in WA.

Sweet! There will be a few of us swimming/riding so we'll organise riding some of the course. Busso water was spectacular at the weekend.

Im leaving Karratha on wednesday arvo, might stop over in Exmouth for the night, then should hit busso Thursday evening if i can be bothered driving that far in a day, otherwise we will arrive Friday.  So the goose sounds good on Saturday, anyone wanna go for a very short ride / jog before hand

From in town out to the Beach Road turn-off is about 10km each way following the bike course.  You could turn around there but say you went to the end of Beach and did 30.

In all seriousness though, going out along Beach Rd isn't a bad idea to familiarise yourself with it as it's probably the most dangerous part of the course due to the huge amount of competitors there on the first lap and the gaps in the peppermint trees which create unexpected sideward gusts when the wind is up.  Nothing serious but a lot of dodgy bike handling goes on out there.

Nah, they threw in an extra run when the swim got cancelled to break up the packs on the bike :P

I think I get there Wednesday, although I am supposed to be at the ghetto 70.3 the weekend before so might not make it till Thursday.

should the new naming rights sponsor really be speaking ill of one of their events...? 😉

I think it's rolling start for the full now, so probably less congestion?

Please stop reminding me of all the ways they have ruined Busso.......

loi yeah it's a shame, but with new swim, no way they could have had a mass start. I reckon 2019 it will be back to round the jetty.

I remember when this race used to be hard

I remember when they had 80 kona spots.

I also remember when real professionals turned up to race.

Gotta be nearly taper time too?

Things could get ugly!

:censored2:

I don't get angry. No energy for that.

I am genuinely worried that it won't happen despite the "it's in the pipeline" stuff.

But either way I have had a great experience.

Off this week to get blood tests.

Cheers all

Don't worry FFF. It will happen. Let us worry about that.

Put all your energy into getting yourself into the right shape to do it. Be that getting the blood tests done, getting rid of the headaches, or going out and completing a mega-block session.

You're going to have a hard enough time out there doing this thing with 200 Trannies all riding on your back. You don't need to worry about petty stuff, like actually being entered. ;)

I am heading down on the Friday before the race. I will be finishing not racing.

Does anyone know a good butcher in Busso? I need some meat to throw in the water to attract the sharks so that I don't have to swim.😀

swim is so close in, any decent sized Noah's are going to get beached.
