Noosa Tri 2018

Recommended Posts

RS you should come and visit us at the Trackside Garden - I might even have a spare wristband to get you some fluids. I'm not allowed to "race" so I'll just get some gentle exercise on the sunday morning (in the legends wave :), do not go quietly as they say)

Thank you for the offer. I usually avoid the tri unless I'm in it. Also coming off night shift.

Reading into what you wrote has me a tad worried. Do you plan to finish?

She will be fine. There would be cut-offs, but they take into account the start time of every wave.

She has to be done by 12pm apparently - should be fine unless I drown.  She'll be spewing if she gets turned around at one of those two early turnaround points.

Fancy having the Family Team category as the last wave to leave at 9.31am?  It would be the category with some of the slowest entrants, hence the most likely to need a generous cutoff allowance?

Cycle – Any remaining team cyclists in transition will be sent out onto the cycle course at the swim cut off time. Athletes must complete the cycle by 12:00pm. There will be two early turnaround points to maintain our police approved opening times. First at 10:47am, all riders turning from Gyndier Drive to Sunrise Road will be redirected down Cooroy-Noosa Road. Second at 10:54am all rider will be turned around at Dath Henderson Drive. Run – Any remaining runners in transition will be sent out on the run course by 12:00pm. All runners are required to be off the course by 1:00pm. Every endeavour will be made to allow you to run to the finish line however you may be asked to move onto the footpath in order to allow the scheduled reopening of the roads.

I’m fortunate enough to hit Noosa early this year. Finally got an opportunity to play the golf day tomorrow after swimming. Yayyyyy.

If you didn’t get one at Port in 2015, I have some spare Transitions bum bibs, so if you want to out yourself as a Tranny on the run course, let me know, for a catch up / handover.

So my BIL swore to me that the best way from Armidale to Noosa was to avoid going anywhere near the Brisbane traffic, and after Warwick sent us out thru Bumble**** Missouri via Gatton, Esk, Kilcoy, Landsborough.

Even 'Jailbreak' at Level 11 was drowned out by the plinking of Banjos.....and for perspective,  I've been to Tingha....numerous times.

Should have gone from Kilcoy through to Eumundi. Much nicer drive, and they play steel guitar rather than banjo. :)

Oh, if there are any mega cheap deals on XXL tri shorts, can someone hook a brother up?

Thanks.

Saw a nice pic of bulk bluebottles on the beach today.

North to North-Easterlies through to Sunday. There'll be bluebottles everywhere.

What's the bet they allow wetsuits to protect against them?

Don't forget to visit the Noosa Meat Centre at Noosaville people. The award winning best hams in Qld for several years running now.

The kids looked well organised. The older kids went first followed by the younger ones and then the special needs triathlon.

Once more criticism. They had the seven years age group waiting in the marshalling area for over an hour.

My 6 year old is really looking forward to doing it next year.

Here is a pic of him six year ago at 4 months of age with some random bloke.

I will quite possibly be doing the walk of shame tmw. Got a foot issue, my ability to run is severely hampered. Really bummed. Determined to finish though, a lot of entry fee to waste!

Yeh, tried that. Might need to be sensible though, cautious that it isn't something worse. I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to pushing through with little niggles, but this one has really got me.

The live coverage was great but it wasn't exactly live. He was running over the bridge 1500 m out and then a minute later he was running through the finish

I pity anybody still out there running now. I've just come in from working outside, and I want to do my final Biggest Loser weigh-in. I've lost nearly 2kg since this morning.

Woot!

Cranky by 2 secs... Sprint finish or was the other lady in a different wave 7 mins later...  makes racing hard
