Is the men's equivalent MClydesdales?

Last time i did Mooloolaba Oympic Dist, my 25-29 AG Wave started directly after the 100+ Clydesdale wave...... What an experience, half were breast stroking before the first buoy 100m out

And then you have former rugby players, 100kgs packed with muscle, winning this category time and time again. Weight is such a subjective measure.

That would be funny unless.....

But the Female Athenas I usually see on the stage are Amazons

I too have giggled at that, but it is simply Female Athenas.

Yes I know there isn't male Athenas so perhaps the F isn't really needed. But I imagine they need a gender for results filtering.

Yep! However as long as it's flat, this fattie will take em down... at 102kgs I'm still pretty strong. Knocked out a 24min 5km off a 35min hard TT effort earlier. Still working out the swimming bit with a new technique, seperated my shoulder earlier this year and broke a few ribs earlier in the year and cant actually move the way I used to on that side.

Maybe they are just tryiong to be more inclusive about their diversity options?

to go with FAthena, they were planning on putting in a MAthena? as well as MClydesdale and FClydesdale?

Love triqld

It's not Tri Qld. Just the event entry system used by The Event Crew.

Just focus on the cycling I need dragging along those flats. I'll do the hills!

Thought I’d do a bit of research and noticed that the Athena cut off for Noosa is 70kg.

Since a multiple runner up at Kona isn’t far off being able to “make weight” for the category, makes you wonder how appropriate it is...

Yeah Caroline Steffen could have a couple of burgers, some salty popcorn and put on enough water weight to get to 70kg.

Athena at Elite Energy is 80kg+

Wow, that's still not exactly mammoth territory.

Not saying much to the issue of a "normal" woman being skinny.

80 kg and you get ur own weight category. Mixed messages in my opinion.

(70 is just ridiculous).
