What training did you do today...

Recommended Posts

Today I rode 40ks and swam 1k.

Tomorrow it's first day back at work so am going to have a rest day. Then I am doing the ramp test on the kickr on Friday.

Make sure you bring a bucket!

2 hours on the turbo this morning between 198 and 210. Faded at 45 mins so knocked it down by 3% then had a bag of concrete half an hour later and finished at the proper level.

1 hour conversational run with the work gang at lunch time.

Bit weird having finished all training by 1300... looking forward to a lazy evening (with a cheeky couple of work calls thrown in).

All sounded pretty promising, just playing the waiting game now.

You run the Cycos, don't you A P? I was there with South Bank Tri Club doing some reps...and stopped by the Regatta for coffee as well, which seems to be a popular Cycos post coot-tha hangout.

Yeah that's where we always finish on Wed -make yourself known next time Foz was there as well 😎 Cootha was like Queens St this morning

I'll have a crack.  The running has been feeling good considering were 9.5 weeks out.   Last weekend was a big step forward and something I can build off again.  I won't say no.

Walked around Washington DC. Went to the Tomb of the unknown soldier and witnessed the last known survivor of the battle for Hamburg Hill laying a reef. Was lucky enough to be standing right next to him as the guard thanked him for his service & they shared a brief private chat.

My wife & I both teared up listening to them thank each other for their service.

Puts ironman & life into perspective.

I love my cryptic workouts. Between the Yassos and the Mongettis I could basically be doing anything... 😛

They're a workout that Bart Yasso came up with to sell books or something. The idea is to do 800m repeats and finish each 800 in the number of minutes that equals the number of hours you are targeting for a marathon. So if you're going for 3 hours then each 800 should be done in 3 mins, same for 4 hours or 2:55 or whatever.

I have no idea whatsoever whether they have any more science behind them than guessing but they were the interval training I used to go sub 3 for a marathon so I'm trying them again for LCW...

I actually quite enjoy them. My wife thinks that is extremely odd.

Trotted out an hour of intervals between 105 and 120% of FTP. I now can't feel my legs :D

It was certainly preferable to the 20 min FTP test.

30 x 100s in the pool with 10 seconds between each.

Been struggling to stay in the water for more than 30 minutes of late, so I was glad to get that one in.

Sorry I missed you mate.

Was watching TV at the same time, so wasn't looking at the zwift screen that much.  Bit over Innsbruck.

Public holiday here in Victoria. Some footy game on tomorrow apparently.

Rode to black rock and back. A nice 65k. Then a lazy 5k run.

Might swim late but pool closes at 5 sommaybe not. Hooked on playing chess.

No worries.

I hit the virtual brakes when I saw your name on the list. Waited for a while and then continued 👍. All good mate

Not always on a Friday but running 1 x long, 1 x tempo and 1 x intervals every week. Today was just an hour on the turbo as tomorrow's fairly big :D

Ahh that was yesterday.  I'm staying right on Moore park on Thursday night  next week and have a run on the program Friday morning if you have anything planned it would be good to have someone to run with.

I'm stuck at a client in Mascot until about 1600 on Friday... I did have a turbo planned but can switch it out for a tempo run if the evening works for you? I need to be on site for 0745 too which is a pain so can't realistically do the morning as I don't have my contractor pass to get in their showers yet!

Got on windtrainer this morning and started first 20min effort, felt rubbish and only made it 10min.. ended up with 70min aerobic. Got off, had a decent feed and a nap, got back on in the arvo and nailed 2hr with 4x20min @ 330-340w right on 70.3 HR. Funny how a crap day can turn to a good one

40 minutes in the gym this morning, then a plasma donation. 5km walk with the dog after work.

Now tasting a wee dram of Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength on the back verandah. Not a bad drop.
