Had a little misshap this morning, I got up to go to the bathroom and started feeling sick, light headed and started sweating. After stumbling into a few walls I fell into the bed awkwardly, on my head. Scared my wife half to death and my neck is giving me some grief now.

Did an easy 10 x 100m in the pool at lunch which was ok, but the neck is sorer this evening. GP Monday morning.

Tomorrow's plan:

Gladiator
Taken
Forrest Gump

That should get me my six hours. I am not looking forward to it but needs must!

I couldn't do 6.  Well I could but rather than put myself through it I did 3 today to build the fatigue with some good strength work.  Nothing more than ironman paced efforts tomorrow for me.

This is what I have come up with.

I'm only doing 6 once in the last block. I did it for NZ and was very grateful mainly for the confidence but it's part of the TR High Volume plan. If I can do 6 hours on the turbo between 160 and 190W (65 - 75 FTP) then a 180km road doesn't seem scary at all :)

What's your IM power as % FTP?

I don't measure ftp to be honest and even if I did it wouldn't be accurate compared to others.  I've done so much lower end work over the years and never worked on the top end stuff for any great period of time.  While the low end power gets easier I have never had any top end sprint to go with guys who I am able to beat in Ironman, but they do a lot of higher end work.

I could guess that my ftp with be in the range of 270 +-20 and my IM pace work is in the 210 to 220 range.  A month ago I was working in the 200 to 210 range so that effort has improved and today I was msging my gf while in the middle of an IM paced effort and thought I was in a recovery the pace was feeling that easy so might be time to bump it a little again.

I played golf with my best mate (my son), then nursed my grandson for a while. Then spent a night with friends I worked with over 20 years ago.

The mental training is at 100%.

30.5km long run, 2 hours Z2 then 40mins @ 4:10s followed by lunch and then a 40 min recovery swim. Pretty pleased with the run backing up from 6 hours on the turbo yesterday. Now nap.

Can't do any of the traditional stuff, but did a 40min gym session this morning, then about 8 hours out in the gardens doing the annual garden refresh & mulching. Nearly halfway through that, so looking forward to a physical week ahead to finish it.

Walked The Spit to Manly with Mr BogFrog. It being Oktoberfest 'n all, we stopped into the Bavarian, had a Schnitzel & a pork knuckle, 6 beers and jogged-walked back to The Spit.

I'm starting to like my off season 😄

1x21.1k run - pacer

1x10k run - pacer

1x5k run - had a crack but with 31k in the legs it was pretty pathetic.

1x2k run (with the young guy)

At one point I wanted to hop out but I kept cruising because I could and you can't at the moment. ✌️😎👍👍

A slab of bush chooks and 5 punnets of strawberries with extra needles.

This @more

😎👍

But seriously it was 2 Museli bars and 2 Huma gels. 2 bidons of water 2 bidons of water with a Shotz Electrolyte tab in each. Black coffee before the ride and a sip of water. I had to stop 3 times to piss, each time it was clear, even energy levels throughout. Felt fantastic off the bike.

Half an hour at the gym before work again today.

Not like swimming riding or running out in the open, but happy to be doing something. :)

Sounds like paradise - we did 3 climbs of O'Reiley's temp 14C-27C - tough conditions for Queensland - last long ride before Kona 😎

Alarm went off at 0530 with all good intentions of getting an hour on the turbo in before heading to Brisbane for the day. I went straight back to sleep. Might do something this evening depending  on when I get home.

Saturday - first run back at speed (not just plodding along). Penrith Lakes Parkrun - 32:48 according to the watch, which I am really happy with considering I have spent my winter away from running. Watch says 6:33/km pace. Brekky with the Penrith folk then back for 25km of laps, which I pulled the pin at 25km because some mother decided to let her kids run onto the bike path and deem that we were in the way.

Sunday - SST (Med) on Zwift. 1:25 of pain. 2 x 30min of overs and unders of FTP.

I tried on a range of runners from the "On" range.   Must say, very impressed (esp. given my issues with 25 model of Kayano and subsequent injuries).  Might just give me the mojo to get running again!   Never hear of a shoe with a one year warranty.....and designed so I don't need orthotics.

When I was wearing them I had mine replaced after 6 months of usage (but not many k's).  Was pretty happy with their service.

Walking, walking, walking.  Though I have a view now, but no dog, so it's win/lose (at least for the week).

30min open water swimming. Some solo and some with Tri Club folks. Bit bumpier out today which was good. Really confident in my swim fitness which makes me more confident in the ocean. Very good to feel.
