I'm not sure which pic I find more offensive:

  • Cranky's "icecream"
  • The sitting down tippy toes shot.

Yep, always complaining about the cost of text books, yet out drinking 4 nights a week and smoking like a chimney!

OMFG

Sorry for the long post, but it's all her crap. I've put a shorter synopsis up front.

Synopsis:

Lot of flowery waffle

Appreciate the kids

Still determined to hit 50. I'll hit that without a doubt.

I made some mistakes early in the endeavor (I thought there was only an early on)

Going to step back & train for 6 to 12 months

Want to share my journey then lots more flowery waffle.

It's all for the children

Won't be travelling the 48 states, so we'll have a "Virtual Race" - Womanofiron

Everyone gets a t-shirt, proceeds to the kids (editorial: I'll bet she makes money on the shirts though)

Ironman have offered her entry to any race she wants.

  • ashley.horner#WomanOfIron update:
Dear Tribe: I’m sorry I’ve been keeping you all in the dark, I have had to navigate through some emotions this past week. I have found myself in some uncharted territory trying to put the puzzle back together again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀There are a few things I want to say here and I want to make my intentions and words as communicative as possible. First would be a sincere thank you to all the kind messages and words of support from so many and even those from critics, without the them you’d never be challenged. It has also made me appreciate even more how much I want this for the children and how easily that purpose can be lost when the focus would shift. I also realized how much I want to succeed and I am STILL determined to hit the 50 full distance triathlons- I believe without a doubt that with the proper training and conditioning I will be able to accomplish that goal....That being said, there were many mistakes that were made early on in my endeavor that I learned from and after careful consideration i’ve decided If I really want to make a successful go at this then I’m going to step back into the training field, sharpen my craft and continue to train hard for the next six-twelve months. I really want to continue to share my journey as it unfolds because I know it’s a long road of sacrifice <for everyone> ahead. But I do know I thrive well in this sort of grit. Alone in my head space & going down to the darkest parts of who I am to keep going. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Furthermore, I also have my MOST important goal and that is to raise the money I’ve pledged for the children of @maisonfortune orphanage. And will continue to work towards that goal over the next year to assure the funds are raised.
Seeing so many of you in my community try the sport for the very first time anticipating my arrival has made me incredibly happy but also saddens me. [CONTINUED IN COMMENTS]
  • ashley.hornerI won’t be traveling this year through the 48 states where so many of you who have supported me for so many years waiting to swim, bike or run with me . So, on September 22nd there will be a virtual race: WomanOfIron that I am hoping we can link together a full distance triathlon in every single state. There are different triathlon distance options, running, biking, and swimming and even relay options. Every participant will get a shirt and a race bib with the entry fee, and 100% it’s going to @maisonfortuneorphanage. Link to register will be available later today.
Finally, I want to take a moment and thank @ironmantri they have offered me an entry into any race and I will definitely be there on the starting line this spring- I have yet to pick a race, but I hope this is an opportunity for you to join me. To bring community together and remind us at the root- the reason we do this. We’re on in this together. Life. -#WomanOfIron

To be fair that most recent post seems the most sensible thing she's said so far.

12 more months of training (I reckon that will become 18), doing it all in one location, maybe getting some advice from those that have been there before etc. It's becoming more doable. Still very difficult and I still don't think she'll make the 50 but or 20.... maybe.

She will also have no excuse about changing starting points / not having data etc. etc. so I think it will be more transparent.

I wonder if she'll be towing the line at Kona?

I'd like to see her take the spot up at a race in 8 to 10 months. I reckon with coaching she'd romp a KQ in.

Why does she deserve a spot,  why doesn't she auction or raffle the spot if she is doing it for the kids.

wait she was doing this for some sort of reason? not just for shameless self promotion? I must have missed that somewhere...

Should we just all agree to disagree and lock this thread already? She's clearly not a triathlete if she's thinking about someone other than herself :P:lol:

Given that she 'made her first million before she was 30', would it be cynical to ask why doesn't she doesn't just give the kids the money and be done?

Nothing surprises me these days. The degree of gullibility and stupidity in the world never ceases to amaze.

This way she can build her brand / digital presence / influence and get others to donate at the same time. Win win.

Hasn't quite worked though. She looks foolish to everyone except her rusted on followers who will chug down any kool-aid she vomits up. I wonder how many of them have actually donated?  Maybe she'll run for President next because if she's learnt anything from this ironman caper it's that if you believe then "anthing is possible".

When she fails she'll just say she still wanted to do it but was told to stop - it will always be someone elses fault because she's flawless.

Not sure how shes going to manage logistics of taking regos, getting shirts printed and mailed out by then? I'm assuming shes gunning for more than 5 entries.

Still delusional?

Although now I’m not able to travel to and through all 48 states to complete the triathlons as intended (read prior post) I have decided to do a virtual race. <link in bio> there are many different things you can sign up to participate in- so you don’t have to do a triathlon but my hope is that we can get a least one person in every state to do a full distance triathlon 🙌 Your entry gets you a #WomanOfIron shirt and a race bib

$45 entry to do anything from a 500m swim through to a 112 mile ride. There are no tri-sport options however, so I suppose you have to register for a 2.4M swim, 112M ride & 26M run to do the full distance tri she wants people to do.

I wonder if you can fudge the data & just say you did it?

I suppose this is one way of getting an IM distance done in every state.

He is passionate and one of australia's best sport science coaches.  He comes across as angry but he like most of the educated and knowledgeable people in industry are just calling out the bullshit going on.

He even called out fitness Australia which eventually ended up him meeting with the head of it.

Interesting everyone had a go at Ashley Horner for disrespecting triathlon.  We have a bunch of people in the fitness industry doing the same.  Yet we call the people that call them out as sexist, angry and **** knuckles?

Someone has the clean up the shit created by these people.

Interestingly since the uprise in instatrainers so has the obesity rate so obviously the industry is failing with these posers.
