According to Greg Welch nutrition is just very important. No percentage mentioned.

Perhaps if instead of riding up Mt Coot-tha at 3am I was thinking about where the closest kebab place is, that might be a better route to Kona?

Oh how the world has changed. When I was growing up, it was hotdogs outside nightclubs, not kebabs.

I don't quite understand this percentage business. If you are not fit, doesn't matter how mentally tough or great your nutrition is you will not go well.  If you are not mentally tough, your physical fitness and perfect nutrition will be for nothing.  If you stuff your nutrition mental and physical toughness/fitness count for nothing.

I agree, if you dont understand I will not talk of % but break it into fractions. My training of late equates to 2/5 of FA 😁

nah, I've been following the longest gag in trannies this year* ,   :bored: I'm just commenting generally when people claim emphatically that the influence on a successful race is xx% due to "physical fitness, mental toughness, nutrition" take your pick.

* I haven't done a statistical analysis on this  and it could be pipped by the hill repeats in the rain reference.

I just don't understand how you can say this is 80% Nutrition. Even if there are 4 x aid stations, each 50m long, on a 4 lap run course, that's only 800m of nutrition, which is a paltry 2%.

You only have to look at the guy as well. He obviously does strength work, so has no idea at all about training.

.

.

And who would take the advice of someone called Marky Mark anyway.

I would suggest that at 100% effort you collapse crossing the finish line, at101% effort you die as you cross the finish line.

To suggest that ppl go out and give something 110% just the kind of hyperbole that drips from has been rugby commentators.

I know I'm go'n to hell but at least I'll be able to count the handbaskets.
