Hopefully.

Because it’s unlikely he’ll want to race another Ironman before Kona next year ... 😂

So is that 7 bike course records from 7 ironman distance races for Wurf this year?

I think his IM race palmeres this year was something like this:

IM South Africa - fastest bike of the day, but I’m not sure about whether he got the course record.

Challenge Venice - bike course record.

IM Nice - bike course record.

Roth - bike course record.

IM Switzerland - bike course record.

Challenge Alermeer - bike course record.

Kona - bike course record.

IMWA - bike course record.

Looks like RBR could break the 9hr mark. Looks like he has 2nd in his AG, and 7th AGer outright wrapped up too. Well done Brett.

Back to the big Island for Brett then?

Well I got that all wrong, though it seems the tracker is doing funny things. He's now 9th, and the 2 that are in front of him didn't appear anywhere in the 37km time-check. maybe they are from WA. ;)

And he won't quite break 9 hours. But still a great race.

edit: And now they are there. maybe they started quite a way back from Brett, so will finish well after him, but still beat him in the end.

I hate rolling starts.

A kid on the way, $$ and time may be making the decision? I’ll be interested did if he takes it. I hope so -I’m  learning a lot from afar from this guy!

Wurf really eased back after 21k of the run.

Check the heart rate fall.

Gotta love the new start. The first age grouper across the line ended up being 2nd by 32 seconds. He pipped the other guy across the line by 1 second, but then gets relegated due to the rolling start.

Another hug for Sam on the run.

Couple of hours to go maybe.

Katz  currently predicted to make it in well before midnight.

I'll start the poll asking if we should ban RBR shortly.

Family before Kona is a ban-able thought, surely?

I'm back...quick race summary..

Overbike and paid for it on the run.  I really worked hard on the run to hold it together somewhat causr it could have got real ugly... Still lots of positives to come away from the race and Jarrod Owen is an absolute gun!

Stoked to pull this off after parting ways with the coach a few months back and it's been a really positive experience to get myself back on track.

No kona spot.  Money not a factor.  My first child is due in May.  I want to remember that.  Doing kona will ruin that experience and that's where my focus will go after port.

Had so much fun sharing the day with with other tranies and passed Sam just before the finish.  He looked really good.

Congrats RBR on a great race 😎

RBR - crushing result, well done. At least you made the most of over biking!!!!

I do think we need a twits style - ask me anything thread with you at some point.

Enjoy the result....

PS - don’t change your mind between now and tomorrow on the slot. I think you are  making the right decision!

Kieran's just picked the pace up markedly for the last 4km, and has less than 1km now to become an Ironman.

Well done mate.

Just watched the Pilbara's best mustache  finish.

nice one @KieranR

Lucky the guy before him wasn't in Qld. He'd have got a stop/go in the finish chute for that zipper.

Well done everyone!

Personally, I was happy to put together a consistent day despite a sub par swim.

Here’s my file for you Peter (ignore HR, it was losing the plot!). For reference I’m 68kg.. clearly need to work on my aero!

Sam just ran the 5km between 32 & 37 faster than he has since the 10km mark, and a minute under what he was averaging.

He heard my plea & is going to try to get me to bed at a sensible hour. :)

It soon wears off, I've been living here 18 months and well over the place. You're keen going to political rally. Politicians here are worse than Australia and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, can mean death or disability.

On the Tri side, the first IM event is due in Goa next year I believe. Won't be as fast as Busso.
