The beer mile rules will be strictly adhered to in Busso, at least for a long as I'm organising it here. If someone wishes to take over our organise a rival event go right ahead.

It's like you lot don't take it seriously or something...

Then again, im sure Cranky participated in a beer mile, as a non drinker.

So perhaps there is dispensation for special people, upon, most likely, written request  the organising committee.

Is there a relay category? I could do the beer if someone wants to do the mile.

Done it with ciders, UDL (not very advisable due to the fizz) and smirnoffs or similar before.

That would be possibly the worst call of all time.  He drinks worse than he dresses.

I am 40-44, untill next year, I painstakingly downloaded individual race data for that AG too though. If I can be bothered I will update for an unofficial ranking list. It doesn't make you faster but can give a rough guide of the strength of field.

to psych yourself out before the race?

to make you doubt your "insert leg here" training and decide to increase volume 200% in last weeks..

I wouldn't even know where to start to get that sort of info together to be honest.  Not on that scale anyway.  Sure I know how to look up a couple people on athlinks but every person in your age group.  That's next level..

Stikman kindly suggested I browse the list for competitors in my age group from traditionally non-swimming nations to make myself feel better that I may not, that's right may not, be the last swimmer out of the water in my age group.

He's very supportive.

Not that I encourage the stalking, but.... https://www.obstri.com could help ;)

Aptly named also.

do you go through and individually look up each person?  This doesn't compare start lists or am I missing something?

taking it waaay to seriously

You're right, it's a classic case of focusing on things I cannot control but it has little influence on my race plan. It provides a few insights into what time I might expect to finish in or need to finish in to finish top x% etc

Can you let me know what the top 6 will do in 3539 please?  Also who those people are will help as well.

And where they live, and what time they ride on what roads. :)

Reading through the last few pages and thinking that I should bring as much finisher data into my analytics platform just to run these questions. Could be an interesting use case while I learn how all this new tech actually works.

I need a flak jacket, I'm taking bullets left and right. Don't think I will live this down unless I win the beer mile.

I was genuinely interested to see who you might come up with.  I know one bloke who will be very hard to beat but I don't recognize any other names and am not willing to put in the time to see who's capable of what.

Also Strava is deceiving.  Take local guys here do 150k on ironman course and avg 28kph or 150k on highway and avg 36kph.

Or you could win your AG. That'd shut a few people up. :)

Some do 5 hour highway struggle to ride average 30kph then claim headwind and a Friday 'afternoon'

Taper starts in a few days so I will chip away and provide something. I only have AG 35-45, I need to learn how to web-scrape with Python. As for winning my AG, I don't need any data to tell me that 'aint happenin'.

Is that cause you're tapering for 3 weeks?

And....

I got corporate approval to do the run in full Postie uniform.

Minus the helmet and boots 👌

If I so desire.

I'll take it with me and play it by ear
