Better get on it. I'm relying on hiding behind your hulk like frame down in Jervis Bay! ;)

until we hit the first hill and I start riding backwards?

I'm going to be on a roadie I decided, my legs get in the road of my gut space on the TT bike

wicked, I should be ok on the bike then. I'll sit in and do all the "work" on the downhills... You know fat rolls downhill pretty fast!

Had 5 days off post South Africa where I just gorged on steak and beer, the only exercise was climbing table mountain :)

Back into it now though.

Do you reckon numbers will be down for Busso due to swim cancellations?

I asked IM how the rego numbers were looking and they said they are having lots of rego coming through (of course they would say that)

Just a thought...

Run course is 4 laps.  Add an out and back on jetty each lap cuts it to 3?  Brings the jetty into the  race.  Would that be an option?  I've never walked on it...

Also had the train on it. Might not be enough room while maintaining public access. Maybe.

I like it!

Is the jetty fenced on both sides for the full length? I could imagine someone getting the staggers during the marathon late at night.

No medical access.

Never gunna happen.

Still a good idea.

Perhaps the medical access isn't necessarily an insurmountable problem.

With a medical team stationed half way along the jetty and no one would be further than 1km from aid. Perhaps a medical buggy similar to a golf cart for emergencies. How wide is the jetty?

It would probably be more effective medical access than what happens in emergencies during the swim. It's certainly way more medical access than Ironman will have at UTA now they've taken over that event.

It was looked at a number of years back

Only a handrail on one side and not wide enough with the train tracks.

At night in the dark a good chance some one struggling  could step straight off.

Hows everyone's training coming along?

For me, im doing ok, enjoying the training, and most importantly am balancing work / family / training ok

Giving the wife the plan each week so she knows what im up to is good.  My daughter comes out riding her bike on some of my runs, only problem is she wants to talk the whole time and I'm not so great at talking while running.   she is also now coming along to some of my swim session after work and doing a little bit of swimming herself.

Zwift has also been good a couple of times a week when i plug in a custom workout and bowl it over, the kids love customizing the rider and bike each time.

Some big sessions coming up and im looking forward to them.

Still dont have a beer mile costume yet - any suggestions?

Awesome Kieran good to hear you're enjoying it and making it work.

Ive had a good 9 week period and had a very very light week last week off the back of a trail marathon the weekend before.

Loading up for the next 7 weeks before a good taper week into the race.

Cant wait to get over there.

Trotted around Perth CBD at lunchtime today and noticed quite a few flys.  Guess I better work on my hygiene.

I have flies on my work pants, but I find they're uncomfortable on running shorts.

And they're always risky on tri-suits as you could get pinged for having them down too low.

They should just make these compulsory - include them in the entry fee or sell 'em at the Expo.
