Busso 2018

Recommended Posts

We went to NZ the next day.  I've also flown to nz for taupo like that and flew to Hawaii with the same look.  My gf gives me a fair space when we are going through customs for some reason..

If you have ever been to Port Hedland you would know how impressive it is this guy was able to train for Ironman & turn pro.

Just the red dust & heat would killed me.

You didn't want it bad enough. If you were mentally tough & got up at 3am you would have won your age group.

WTF he lived in Port Hedland and was able to train for Ironman & turned pro!!! Super impressive. How did he do that? there is no hills in Port Hedland.

He’s one of those types that does all his efforts on the kickr.  I know this is frowned upon by some 😂😂

I know he does some sessions out in the pilbaras version of altitude training at Tom Price.  I’m hoping to catch up with him in a month when I go up to Marble Bar for the Undie run at the races

Seems like a good guy, helped steer me toward Gilesy for coaching.  Can seriously ride a bike, his split at busso last year was insane.

He’s a good bloke. Had a few beers with him and Xavier at Ironman PM last year.

Salt? Do you Ironman racers worry about it?

Ever had bad experiences with or without it?

I'm curious.

I have found that if I am pedantic about it on long sessions it just ends up caked to my kit and face...? LOL too much maybe?

Ok,

Im not bringing my family down to Busso this year as was previously planned, so im flying solo, Does anyone have a room spare in their accom bookings i could crash in, obviously happy to pay my way.  I have a cabin down at the RAC caravan park but dont need it for just myself.

Whats wrong with you!

it should be a large popcorn chicken from KFC for entree, then larger bacon deluxe meal from HJ's, washed down with several pints from the local

I'm tired and hungry.*

Getting the beer Mile costumes sorted 😎👌

First week proper of the MKC program. Doing exactly what is on it. Enjoying the lack of thinking required. Just do what is there. I initially felt "out of control" and was anxious. But then I realised that I am still in control. Control of my attitude, diet, accountability. So I am all good now. Rock on.

Costumes for beer mile! I better get my act together

training wise, going well after my holidays, nailed every session last week except one night when I had to eject off the bike and stop WW3 from erupting between the kiddos.  Loving the training, and am getting fitter each week.  looking forward to breaking 17 hrs and writing an in-depth race report for prizna to read 😉

Just make sure you finish this one.  Could be embarrassing if you don't.

After your 30 minute effort on Sunday you should save the concern for yourself.

In the words of AP, time is too variable.

swim = 2hrs/week. I will most likely swim 75mins on the day, ultimately I'll probably only manage 2 swims a week.

bike = almost none, I'm butthurt after my first one, the plan is to start cycling as much as possible

Run = 40kms/week or so, easiest one and I do enough, I can run a marathon

Strength = 2 times weekly, I'm turning into the hulk

Beers = 3-4 times weekly, the IM isnt important, the beer mile is what people will remember

Better get on it. I'm relying on hiding behind your hulk like frame down in Jervis Bay! ;)
