When I worked for WTC as a Pro Spotter you can easily just have a chat with all the pros whilst they are riding.  Be good to get some questions being asked.

Toby is a smart guy and would ask good questions.

Motorsport interview during Bathurst why not Ironman?

Settle down mate, don't get carried away. Just be happy you've got access to some sweet stationary web cams. Surely this covers enough action for you?

I can't believe they don't have some live video of this run.

It's going to be fantastic

Just not for us.

Back for Horn fight for me

Meh, I dont care where they race as long as it's close and a good quality field. In fact I reckon if you put World Champs in a more even climate (not stupid heat and humidity) with a hilly somewhat challenging course it would be an even better race.

You've rubbished my favourite shoes, gels and nutrition drink.  Dont rubbish Kona as well please.

You have a race like this and no decent live coverage... how do you really grow the sport and make it more appealing to sponsors outside of the swim/bike/run/nutrition scope without it?
Challenge managed it last weekend and did a good job of the video coverage(commentary was ordinary).
the world surf league understand it and kill it.

Is your ass jealous of all that shit coming out of your mouth? :P:lol:

I didn't rubbish anything, just gave you better alternatives ;) I didn't say your favourites suck (Adios weren't they? I think they're great). I didn't rubbish Kona, simply that it would be better somewhere else that evens things up a bit more and gives them a true test, not just those who's bodies work a bit better in that climate (yes blah blah blah its all part of the race etc I know all those arguments, but when it's in the same place year after year that's not great IMO).

Enticer done - 6:31hrs

Happy with that given the lead up in the last two weeks: I’ve been sick and am carrying a set of injuries in my right arm that basically means I’m swimming with one arm (I’ve struggled through Winterfish ...).

Queasy in both transitions - trips to the potty in both and twice on the run. Still feeling the effects of my cold I think. That said I was happy with the bike, except the wind really got up in the last 40km which blew my chances of going under 3hrs but a 3:02 spit is a BP on that course.

When I didn’t have rough guts on the run I was moving freely at about 7min/km and my moving time was just over 2:30hrs but my run split was 2:40.

BUT - all in all - I’m happy and I don’t feel smashed. However Flanman still owns me, 😂

Interesting to see the men’s pro field run by just before I finished. Terrenzo looked strong and Gomez was lurking a few seconds behind in 4th.

More later.

cheers A

No run for me today. No excuses, that’s all I had today against some of the best in the business. Made it to 155km on the bike before the wheels started to fall off. I’m not disappointed with the outcome, I am moving in the right direction. Time to cheer on the @claytonfett

Gomez is wearing DTs under his trisuit. That's my sophisticated input to the discussion.

30kms in the mens race and Javier Gomez is still right with Braden Currie, neither one giving anything away with 12kms left to run.

Through 16kms in the women, Teresa Adam leads by 5 minutes from Mirinda Carfrae, but the Kiwi has picked up her pace … this has some twists to play out. In behind, Lauren Brandon is at 7:45 from the leader but the mover is still Beth McKenzie in fourth although she is still around 15 mins behind the leader and her blinding sub 4min pace has eased.

Luke mcKenzie dropped out.

He's caught the DNF thing from Jacobs.

Quote

At 18.3km on the run, Mirinda Carfrae has re-asserted herself - now at 4:46 from leader Teresa Adam. Lauren Brandon is third with Beth McKenzie 6 mins behind her and closing.
