Can you please stay on topic.

Maybe dyslexia is getting the better of me, but did someone say earlier that AP is a Scientologist?

That would be awesome, it's been my life long dream to race in Kona.

Bit late to that party... another thread (50 IM in 50 states) has been dissecting their qualifications (or lack of) and experience...

I wondered why no-one had mentioned it.

John Rafter

Is this the John rafter from Toowoomba?

I used to race with him quite a bit back in the early days of Tri.

He's now down the Goldie, and he and Amanda so much arse at events, mostly Trex stuff now days.

I've had bike fits with him in the past, and sat down with a bit of a chin wag/brain pick in the past.  Top bloke, even if he did/does run in 5fingers/sandals ;)

Yeah, did some impressive times before technology took over the sport. Bit of a Brad Bevan type.

There was a good competitive crowd up in Toowoomba back then. Mark Smoothy, John, and Jeff Mitchell. If Jeff had learnt to swim fast he'd have been a real force with the run times he could knock out.

Top bloke John. He used to travel all over the state and race nearly every weekend like the rest of us. We all wondered how such an old bloke could keep up (he was a few years older than me, and we used to think of him as one of the "old guys").

I remember a few years ago when he was 50, half way through a Trex series (or what ever the off road tris were then) he was leading the open age group!  We also have the same knee surgeon, cept he let John continue running.

2 time Kona qualifier too if I remember correctly.  His partner Amanda is pretty outstanding too!
