Yes have to be there.

I was in NZ in 2004 and saw a womans age group roll to a woman that did 15 hrs something.  About 14 women weren't there and it just kept rolling.

A club mate of mine.  His first Ironman too.  Stoked would be an understatement.

Any idea what time did he did?  I can't seem to get the results to come up.

Looks like 10:24:01 got him there.  Well done young fella!

Sometimes you've just got to have a crack and see what happens...  Now just enjoy Kona!

There's probably not a huge number of 25-29 year olds who have the spare coin to be dropping on a trip to Hawaii on top of the couple of k they've already invested just doing Port?

yep, that was my point. They would rather spend their money on something else.

Without $$$ from parents heading to Kona would be near impossible. Not much change from 10k.

Could have been working for 10 years by then. I did it at 26 with no help from my parents, & I didn't start full time work till 20. It wasn't much cheaper back then either. I think it cost about $7k (though I did a little extra) so I just put the last $3k on VISA.

They just don't want it hard enough. :)

If your’re 25-29 & still relying on money from your parents, you need to spend less time training & more time building a career.

But if they did that how would they afford their smashed avocado and deconstructed latte?

By spending time building a career.

Not many jobs start at 3am, so you can still be keen enough to #gotokona #upat3totrain.

2am is the new 3am. Unless you purchased the $1k shoes & ceramic speed chain & jockey wheels. Then its all ZZZZZZ & cross training with the wife.

Is that something like falling asleep whilst riding? If that's the case, then "yeah, done that".

Detective by 29. Impressive.

Obviously a go getter.

I actually have smashed avo most days, as does my wife & son.

$4 for a loaf of sourdough and $2.50 for an avocado. The bread does 2 days, and the avo 1, so it's $1.50 each person for 2 or 3 slices of smashed avo. For about 3 months of the year the avo's are free off the tree. Can't see much of an expense myself. :)

I was actually referring to the Cafe set. All good.

But thanks for the economics lesson. Very fitting seeing as it's Budget night. 👌

I'm going to give you a pass on this one because you helped me out with a free Ironman entry, but if you use offensive language once more, I will report you.

I prefer the sourdough with jalapenos that you can get from Woolies than what you get at a cafe. And I hate the smell of coffee, so struggle to get through my regular Friday team meeting at the cafe downstairs from work.
