Has anyone watched the Facebook live feed thing with the TA head coach Dan Atkins? Thoughts?

Saw last 10mins last night. Seemed to be fairly obvious questions asked. But Dan gave very helpful answers.

Meanwhile, wave starts are up.

Not exactly perfect times for me 11:40 for sprint and absulite last wave in OD - oh well here’s hoping for a coolish day and for OD I won’t have to stress about a busy bike course 😛

11.30 for the sprint and 7.51 for the oly - I'm happy with that 🙂

Has anyone received their kit yet? Happy? Fit ok etc?

Yes. It fits but the next size up would've been better. My butt's too big so the colour fades 🙁

I like the feel of it though

To those not on FB you can check who you are racing against on the app, but entering the age group in the search function eg, M40-44

I remember a photo of Geoff Huegill holding his togs up one year. They looked like they were for a skinny 12 yr old boy.

I've found when I'm around mates their description is often worse than how I picture myself.  Maybe I need new mates.

Yeah that's a classic.

I'm a beginner, does everyone jump on clipped in shoes .

And everyone telling her to do it. T1 exit will be interesting!

Has this "beginner" qualified to represent Aus?

Must have of shes on the Gold Coast team.

And by others accounts it was harder this year. Maybe depends on the age group?

Club tents eh?  I won't say anything more on the FB page about it, but I will here.  I think it's in really poor form.  We are supposed to be Team Australia and not Team T Rex, or whatever club you affiliate with.

I hear ya. But perhaps it was just more of an offer to provide more shade/ shelter for the whole team. That's what I'd like to think anyway.

More like a gathering place for their multinational team.

I always wondered where Freddie's younger brother went?

Come on folks, it was a 4:45 am photo in a motel room on race day (after a sleepless night, a long time ago)

Wonder who asked it 😂

I saw Bernard from Scody about 30mins after the question was posted so I went straight to the source for correct info. Cranky is sorted now.

It's in the athlete guide folks - based on country but with an extra time slot in the afternoon for people who miss their designated time

Folks on the FB thread also need to read the manual.  And ITU rules.

AA7 to the rescue. I'm sure I read somewhere that you couldn't have brands on anything.

I had some shoes being sent from Saucony to St Peters that took best part of 9 days... EXPRESS!

They went Prestons - Chullora (overnight) - Smeaton Grange the next morning where they sat for three days - then to Chullora where they spent a night before going back to Smeaton Grange the next day. then they went back to chullora the next day before being delivered to me the day after.

I had contacted them a few times in between chasing them as they were a special order. they're excuse "sorry it was a postcode mis read". Er, twice? After they had a person re direct it, twice.

Now Saucony use Australia Post's API integration and all the details go to AUSPOST electronically and it prints out a couple of nice little stickers you put on the box. They're all correct and clear as day. Don't get me started on a few other things that have gone from me to brisbane via Melbourne
