I searched and the first fit was for a game called "Idle heroes". Coincidence?

Bike course is shi..  how do they manage to make it worse every time the event comes to the Gold Coast? The drafters will like it. It had better not rain....

Looks like another swim start with "sacrificial" thongs and cloths...

PS: Anybody care to tell the ITU that for 98% of the competitors this is not "grand final" but an outright world champs.

PPS: can anyone remember what the time frame for the delivery of the first round of uniform orders was?

There is a bag drop at the swim start - they may cart the stuff to transition for us to collect post race...

Hotel slippers are the go.

I stashed a few pairs from along the way and various trips.

Why not? I mean why aren't you doing the race, not why dont you have a husband? I think I know the answer to that.

Decided I like going slow more than this type of stuff so concentrating on getting strong for Busso

Drove down and tried out the bike course yesterday,

don't recommend training on it - too dangerous (stop and give way signs to traverse, traffic, building sites, turns across traffic etc).

Anyway here is my map - note the official course maps leave out an important right turn across traffic about 3 k into the course into Marine parade (miss that one and you are going to Hellensvale instead of Paradise Point) !.

(I had a slight variation on the way back from the turn around when I turned left one street early (into Milton) off Joy St due to a desire not to go under the front of a Barina in the rain). FYI there is a "99 Bikes" shop right across the road from transition, and lovely amenities just to the south at the Gold Coast Aquatic Complex (renamed from Southport Pool for Com Games).

Why not? They come in handy. You should get yourself one!

My girlfriend could probably use one of them by the sound of it and it would make my life a whole lot easier 😂

According to the latest email we are not allowed to  leave a towel in transition - how are we meant to dry our feet ?

It's going to be bucketing down with rain anyway.

I was thinking that your transition mat could be very towel like...but I guess they use buckets in ITU? I have no idea. Not fast enough to qualify.

The funniest thing in transition when it is raining is people putting a plastic bag on their bike saddle. What is the first thing that is going to get wet as soon as you sit on it?

Yeah I have never understood that either.. I saw a guy once who had his bike covered in a tarp while he was swimming.. not sure if he hoped it would stop while he was out there but it didnt and bike wasnt dry for long...

It's a mute point anyway since it will be a Duathlon.

Probably be that long a jog from the water that it will need a drinks stop (eg Noosa), or my though was - stuff a small one (like a face washer) inside your helmet.

Never dried my feet in a single trial I've done. Just use a brightly coloured towel to find my bike!

I remember in my 2nd or 3rd tri.  Setting up a towel hat shoes socks gel race number.

Young guy next to me.  Shoes and race number.

I looked between the two a couple times and gave myself a face palm.  Last time I wore socks and had a towel in anything shorter than a 70.3.

ITU worlds multisport 2018 they gave us crates for our gear.

ITU worlds standard/sprint 2017 was separate transitions. Small bag was the go as they transported T2.

All variable it seems.

Depends on the run from swim to bike, some places I have had to wipe mud, grass or dirt off my feet!

Same as me. Guess I'll have to tie a balloon to the rack or put some baby powder on the ground then :)

Athlete names are all listed on the app now. Can't sort them into categories though. Unless someone knows a tricky way.

Am I right in saying that tickets for The Athletes dinner or $160 for partners? Or did I do something wrong? I would love it if Daz would join me for this but $160 is crazy! And they're not letting you use other people's tickets if they can't attend. I don't know how this works. Maybe it's a wristband thing.

The athletes don't have to pay this - it's included in what we already paid. This is for extra tickets

But I expect caviar, lobster, an open bar and diamond excrusted utensils

Number of aus itu world champs

Prior to worlds 2017. It's more now, but the uniform is the same.

That's the problem with putting a number on the suit. And they would have to change the bit about being able to use the kit from the previous year.
