Beautiful one day......

I lived on the Gold Coast and always told people it was great weather.

The truth was, if it was after 1pm it was windy as, and usually wet.

Birtwhistle and Murray in 2nd group about 21 seconds behind the front group. The front group (6) includes the Brownlees brother and Hauser.

Aaron is saying Ali is injured. Just a domestic for Johnny.

Only just started watching a little of it, but nice to see Hauser seemingly sharing the load, and also sticking with the guns.  Up and coming young gun giving his all.

Another Ad. Pete I am watching the App as well but is about 30 seconds behind. Schoeman is leading the run. Ali has dropped away. Hauser is about 5th. Johnny is in 3rd.

Schoeman (SAF), Birthwhistle (AUS), Austin (SCO). Hauser was 4th. Murray was 5th. Brownlees dropped away. The Relay is going to be a cracker of a race.

Great effort by all the Aussie men. Shame that Jake missed the first bunch though. ... I reckon that Australia is looking very special for the mixed relay, given the women’s strong performances this morning as well ...

Super happy for Matty Hauser.  He grew up racing our local tri's and was always going to get to this level of racing, and at 20 years old he could be anything.  A nicer family you will not meet.

Not sure how I'm going to get back to work after that.

Controversial win given Schoemans recent history?

Where is Beaten to give Jake a high 5?

Prednisolone according the commentators and was cleared.  Seems pretty innocent on the surface.

Ripper race. Too excited to video the finish! I had to use all my willpower to not jump up and down on my dodgie ankle at the finish. Soooooo close!!!

I’m sorta happy about this even though I really like the brothers.

Total domination for 10years of two guys makes any sport boring.

I wasn't aware Britain was racing:lol:  Anyway, my passport says I'm Australian and just this very morning I've been looking at Anzac Biscuit  recipes to bring to work on the 25th.  Go Jake, top bloke.:whistling:

Surely some of these guys who are caught out are innocent and are just plain dumb.  It's possible he forgot he was a professional athlete and failed to get the TUE.

Has Comm Games always been a sprint distance race?

No used to be (and should be) OD.

Nah. It’s so much better to watch on tv being a sprint.

With olympic distance they just roll turns for 60 minutes on the bike. Boring.

Id be okay with Olympic distance if the bike had hills.

Or  bonus seconds for primes.

Or to be honest. 2 x sprint distance back to back enduro style.

The teams race on Saturday will be awesome. Newer formats are so much better than boring draft fests

Maybe two sprints per gender, top 15 (20 for olympics) in the first race in the morning qualify for the final in the afternoon?

Track and field running and swimming have lots of different distances and formats. So there’s a precedent for some diversity in tri formats (eg sprint, OD and long course)...

The longest pool swimming event is 15mins.  Is 10k the longest track event? Usually with other things going on around it.

I love watching OD, and always will.  But I'm not the person they want to grab.

Not sure actually. The sprint was OK. I kind of felt it was too short though. Perhaps as someone suggested an enduro, 2 x sprint.

Hence why it is called Olympic distance. Longest pool event is 1500m, longest track cycling event is 40km and longest athleticstrack event is 10km.

For women it’s only 25k.

So maybe the distances need to change for the women
