Leg shaving....

Recommended Posts

Honestly thought it made no difference but just saw a YouTube clip claiming 40-90 sec over 40k.

Anyone care to comment on this?

My leg hair is pretty bushy.... 60 seconds is a fair gain in a Olympic distance when you're as crap on the bike (relative to run and swim) as I am...

I'm horrified that I am considering this.

Ffs don't shave. It will take you ages.

Go the veet or wax.

Veet is 6 minutes and then a shower. Cheap option.

Wax last longer but is expensive.

Make sure you do before and after photos for us.

You also know once you do it you can’t go back as it’s too itchy

I don't agree.

But the razor leaves the legs so smooth. Nothing like silk sheets on freshly shaved legs.

I remember the first time I swam after leg shave - weird feeling.  Also it makes the regular massage easy.  Just shave is enough, takes a minute or 2 max.

I'll take the 15 watt penalty (maybe 25 for me) if it means I don't have to put up with my wife laughing at me day after day, telling me my legs are freaking her out and weird to touch!  And I've still got ingrown hairs from the one time I shaved them, years ago now!

I have to admit that I am having quite a giggle at this thread. The few beers might also have something to do with it, but the image I have in my head of all the above scenarios is rather amusing

I did it once already for 1 race.  I have never touched them since.

I honestly feel like I'm giving in to peer pressure by doing this..

I only got into cycling as moto racing had gotten too expensive. My intention was always to race and the one thing I did know about cycle racers was that they shaved their legs.

So I did it from the first or second day I had my bike and never gave it another thought. Added bonus was that my surfing steamer was easier to on and off. :)

I hate all body hair so I have had a regular appointment at my wife’s beautician for years until we moved back to Karratha! Waxing here is so expensive, so I’ve sacrificed my appt so she can keep hers and I’ve gone back to shaving, I don’t do it for the 60 second time saving, I do it because I like it! 😂😂

The issue is, if you shave, how high do you go? Stop at the hem of your shorts? The hem of your undies? Either way you'll look like you've got hairy pants on.

Speaking from personal experience here....
