It is as I said.

Yeah I've heard that too.

Guessing with the law that you can just kill drug users, the Philippines will be a clean race.

Would have been better in Vietnam.

There is a full challenge there. Do it.

Where in the Philippines? I hope it's not Davao. Cebu would be good.

I did a 5150 in Subic and it was super hot but not a bad place, its a bit easier to get to then then Cebu. Having also done Cebu 70.3 a couple of times, I would have still liked to have seen it down there, it is the best race atmosphere anywhere on the planet for a 70.3. The organisers are first rate so this will be an epic event if you are able to make it.

This Ironman will be hotter than Kona, likely similar to IM Malaysia.

I hope it succeeds. I'm sure there's a lot of athletes across the Asian region who have been wanting another ironman race in this region.

With Port Mac and Cairns to choose from, I can't see a big number of Aussies going to this race. It will only be the destination racers and 2nd and 3rd tier Pros.

I wonder if Sutto will be a consultant on setting the course seeing as he's been a regular visitor there with his squad for the last 15 years.

Validation Requirement

Athlete safety is our utmost priority at Sunrise Events. We want to ensure everyone who participates in IRONMAN Philippines next year is fully prepared to undertake the challenge of an IRONMAN Triathlon event. As such, and in order to participate, you will have to complete or have completed an IRONMAN 70.3 or IRONMAN event within the time period of January 2016 to March 2018.

Well I'm out then. I was actually thinking about doing this next year but I won't validate. Sigh.
