Use by date on gels

Recommended Posts

My latest Wiggle order came with a side order of free SIS gels, about 35 of 'em. This wasn't a promo, they just seemed to have thrown them in the box.  I can see why, the use by date is May '17.  Whaddya reckon, good 'til Xmas? :D

Bonus and yes! Except probably some dodgy flavor that no one wants.

I reckon I've still got a box here somewhere from Shepp 70.3 2010-ish.  I reckon they are good for another decade or so............might come out of retirement just to use them up ;)

Try them first, if you don't die then I'll figure I'm good to go.

in 2012 when I made a return to IMs after a 5 year break, I upended a shoebox full of gels, sorted them into use by years, and started with the oldest, at that stage 4 years out of date use by '08s, and slowly made my way through the 08s, the 09s etc, until all were gone.

I figure, that any foodstuff that can have a 2-4 year shelf life, is good for double that.

I have gels that are almost a year out of date and I have no intention of throwing them out. It will likely take me a couple of years to get through them, but I will get there.

I would never have even looked at the best before date except to post this.  Surprised they're not further out of date, to be honest.
