I was surprised when Travis said he had no desire to race Epic 5.  He loves Hawaii & doing crazy events.

Travie is soft though

he also likes things that are well organised and with RDs that don't risk athletes  lives too much ,especially  if your paying over $10k for the pleasure

Wasn't ultraman Australia a cluster fk the first year? Changing the bike course etc the night before the event.

I know I am baiting you ip but I am surprised you wouldn't have a crack at epic 5.

At bored said.

Its in Hawaii

Its farkin hard

not many have ever done it.

Be like Kona was in 1978. One of the first.

Youd farkn destroy it. In theory. Or are you actually scared of failing?

So it was a cluster fk.   I was talking to Shrek at last years event & he said he was  up till midnight the night before trying to work out the bike course for the next day.

TBH the run course last year was a bit of a cluster fk to navigate as a support person.  It all worked out but it I wouldn't call it a well run event.

Nah mate u know me well enough to know  I'm  not worried about failure of anything I do

also with the times given for completeing ach day you could do it

as I quoted above. , after being very very keen on doing this event last year I did some research and spoke to two people that had done. It and they felt the rds running it didn't take athletes safety seriously enough and at times felt very unsafe during the. Event

also things got lost , broken and gear never arrived that was needed for particular athletes

all this may have improved since then

also for $10k I can live on the big  island for 3 or more months , which I plan to do at some stage soon so that gives me far better value than a 5 day jaunt
