It seemed like it was an observation not a criticism, jesus christ...do you feel attacked all the time outside of the computer world as well?

Unless you bought a pro model, the tread-mill probably won't go that fast.

True, they top out at 20 yeah?

Very impressive. (But the commentators on the YouTube feed did my head in and I only watched the last 10mins 😀)

We (people who aren’t couch potatoes) are in awe, I’m not most people could comprehend what he just did.

Unbelievable.

What an amazing month or so...   A Quadruple Crossing of the English Chanel and now this!

I'd agree with you Ex.  Breaking the 2 hour barrier is super impressive, but a drug test to remove any doubt would seal it for me.

Just amazing!

Anyone else think he looks a lot older than 34?

When you travel at close to the speed of light does time slow down or speed up? :D

When was the last time a drug test actually worked, this isn’t really random, they would be very aware an out of comp would be likely. Even if he was doping, INEOS are not going to let him roll up glowing for an event like this.

Is this the biggest milestone in running?  Is it more significant than the first 4min mile?

Yes.

In my opinion, easily.

Let me put this way.

Is today's performance categorically better than his run at Berlin last year? Or better than Bekele a few weeks ago?

No. But now you’ve opened a big can of worms 😂

Those worms were squirming before the first attempt 18 months ago.

If we can't say with any certainty that it's the best marathon performance we've seen in the last year, how can anyone claim it's the "biggest milestone in running" history?

I was watching a film about Matt Daniels the other day.  He's the only person to run a sub 4min mile and complete Western States 100 (not only complete, came 4th!)

What I was surprised at was the stat that said since Roger Bannister's 4min mile, only 1400 people worldwide have done it. What's that in, 70 years?

In 70 years, I doubt that 1400 people will have run a sub 2hr marathon.

No-one's done it in a race yet either. I think it'll be another 5 to 10 years before anybody does.
