29er carbons frames

Recommended Posts

Ok, looking to build a 29er hardtail.

I've had a couple of 26" chinese carbon frames before so ok with the whole building/ damage/breaking thing.

I've been looking around a bit and it's either a $150 alloy or $2.5k carbon. seems to be very little in between.

budget is not much so no $2k+ framesets.

must haves

Carbon

135 QR

29er

xc race geo

BSA BB (no Press fit!!)

budget upto $1K

hit me with your recommendations.

Check out the TWE store on bike exchange. I stumbled across it today. I know of them as a wheel builder, but I was surprised how many frame options they had. You'll have to check your "must have" list though. I didn't pay that much attention.

Check out Ali express... plenty of options. So far as Chinese frames go, Yishun and Dengfu have a good reputation, although I'm sure there are others. I have a Yishun FM-329 and it's been fine. Only issue was the cables rattling around inside the frame which I fixed with some closed cell foam and a few dabs of silicone.
