Chain Maintenance

Recommended Posts

Looking for some advise regarding keeping chain clean during ride. Last weekend whilst riding though deepish sand on a trail I came off, falling to the chainring side of the bike. This obviously resulted in sand all through the chain, cassette and and chain ring (including derailleurs). Is there any quick fix whilst out on a ride, or anything that can be done to prevent the crunching and grinding that occurred for the next few hundred meters? Or is this something you just have to accept.

BTW - the lube I used didn't seem to hold any sand once it cleared.

Cheers

If its not that sticky on ur lube, would a wter bottle squirt while running it backwards help? Ive done that with mud.

But only if u had water to spare

Get a branch of leaves and brush it off
