Bike Trainers

Recommended Posts

G'day all

I know there has been a few threads around bike trainers but I need some help/advice.

Looking at three different options:

1. Jet black whisper drive around $500 new, maybe $350ish second hand

2. Cycleops Silencer direct drive trainer $600 new

3. Elite Volano Turbo Muin Indoor Trainer $540 (torpedo7)

What do people think? Any help/advice would be great!

No experience with those sorry but cycleops are lifetime warranty and replace without question so +1 for any of their products

Saw a friend with an elite smart trainer a few weeks back. I was actually really impressed by it. Pretty sure it was within your budget too. Wheel on version though not direct drive

I'm on the Elite Qubo Digital Smart B+ affordable option ($645 from the local bike shop) and well reviewed by DC Rainmaker.

Also look into the Tacx Vortex Smart as an option around the same price if you are interested in controllable trainers. As above this has great reviews by DCR and others (including me.)

BikeBug had 3 in stock this week - less the one I purchased.

Only 1 ride so far, but seems really good.

Cheers

I considered the tacx but the post sales support reviews I've read were enough to turn me off. Apparently if you get a good one you're sweet but if problems arise you're on your own.
