I don't know how you can sleep at night living amongst such debauchery. Must feel overwhelming trying to change all the wrongs in the World.

Its telling that once again you try to make the topic about me with all that venom and spite in your heart, rather than add anything meaningful.

There are many wrongs in the world that I don't feel that passionate about. I can't help feeling passionate about the ones that I do.

And a question for TC (for balance). Is there a reason why (with the exception of Jordan as far as I know) the Muslim countries, such as the one you live in are not opening their arms to the myriad displaced (genuine) migrants that are sweeping into Europe?

Where would you rather flee to, Saudi or France?

That's weird coz I blocked you :schnauz:

Not weird. Blocking only works if someone requests to follow.

Have a read of William James' "Varieties of Religious Experience", originally published 1902, explains a bit to the topic.

Niseko, you live in a country that only outlawed child pornography in 2014 and even then gave residents a year's amnesty to get rid of all their evidence and today, child pornography is still allowed to be portrayed in anime.

What's your opinion on that?

Unrelated to the topic

If you are interested in seeing into the mind of dangerous, evangelical nutter, spreading hatred and intolerance about countries he has never actually been to, check out https://twitter.com/bcolless

Regrettable that this chick is dragging the topic into personal levels, but so be it. Always with the smoke and mirrors distractions like most Islamists. Make this thread about me; not about how Islam grinds your sisters into the ground from birth. Â

Â

Am not sure why you post my twitter feed, there's nothing I'm embarrassed about or 'evangelical' there or dangerous at all. And to be honest, I put about  as much thought into my twitter profile as you do your appearance. #couldnotgiveafark #3/10

In context. Saudi, a rich country with a low population which does not persecute

Is that because Christianity is hidden in news reporting? You don't hear, a Christian man today raped a young lady..

And you're telling me the 'majority' of criminals in Australia are not Christian? I'm calling BS all day.

Have you heard about this religion called the Catholic Church?

They are pretty much up there with shit things and then just saying 3 hail Mary's to be forgiven.

I think they are far far worse than Islam

Why?

He'd just be following Mohammad's example

To me Christians saying 'Islam has a problem' is like a mass murderer accusing another mass murderer of being evil.

Both have a long history of evil in the world - whether you are talking about rape, abuse, cover-ups, the abuse of women, the treatment of those with different views or outright murder - they are as bad as one another.

For every female FGM statistic or bombing reference you can talk about in Islam, you can countenance with just as many evil doings by 'Christians' - Just a reminder that the Child Abuse Royal Commission is about to hear evidence from its 7000th witness..... I'm pretty sure none of those 7000 kids raped by priests consider that the Christian religion has any authority to say what is and isn't evil.

I just wish that the Christian religions would heed their own words - you know, those who live in glass houses and all that.

Its nothing new though is it?? Christianity claiming moral superiority, claiming that they are the only ones with the moral compass.... all whilst raping kids and doing their best to influence politics for their own twisted ends.....

Christianity is just another mass murdering, evil crime syndicate.

What a bunch of hypocrites, eh?

I'm surprised it's not more popular among the left

IJ,

The bible also condones child abuse and the rape of children (as well as selling children as slaves/possessions)

Abraham takes his son (Isaac) to the forest to be killed as a sacrifice to God (as part of a test from God) (Genesis, 22 1-12)

Lot protects the men in his house by giving invaders his two female children for them to rape instead - 'I have two daughters who have not known a man; I bring them to you for you to do as you please; only do nothing to these men, as they have come under the shelter of my roof' (Genesis 19:8)

Caleb promises his daughter to any warrior who can conquer the city of Hebron (Judges 1:12)

Children are killed to pay for the sins of parents 'happy shall they be who take your little ones, and dash them against the rock' (Psalms)

etc.

Although some Christians will tell you we don't take notice of the old Testament ....

.... We only take notice of the old Testament when determining our stance on homosexuality and gay marriage ....

So, basically, take and leave the bits of the bible that suit your argument - as I have done....

You're quite right TT

Christianity and Islam are both Abrahamic religions, loosely based on the same book (Old Testament). Islam then went one way with the Koran (life and times of Mohammad), and Christianity branched off with the New Testament (JC's Bio)

I confess to have read little of either book, but I rather doubt you could quote any references to Jesus murdering people and marrying nine year olds

I don't think the New Testament instructs Christians to slaughter unbelievers either

You can't see anything in the New Testament about homosexuality either IJ - in fact, Jesus never mentioned gay people once.

And yet a significant number of Christian nutters spend a whole lot of their time OBSESSING over gay marriage.

(fun fact: in 2015 the ACL issued more press releases dealing with gay marriage than all other issues combined .... this tells me that they think gay marriage is THE SINGLE most important issue, and the one that they spend most time focussed on..... not homeless, or hungry, or elderly, or indigenous people ...... So the largest Christian lobby in Australia focusses on an issue that was never mentioned by Jesus once?? Why?? Why is this even on their radar, let alone the most important issue??)

Christians can (and do) justify anything they like by picking and choosing which bit of the bible they want to follow - sometimes it changes from day to day .... so when you say 'Jesus never mentioned raping kids' - it means nothing. Jesus never mentioned gay people but look at what sort of a lather religious folk get into over that one!!!

Just the same as Muslims who either choose to be the peace-loving kind (ie pick some bits of their book) , or the head-choppy kind (choosing the other bits of their book) .....

I see no difference between Christians and Muslims picking and choosing scriptures to align with whatever they want to think!

(I'm pretty familiar with the Bible, not so much with the Koran, although I have read bits of it. They are both ridiculous fairy tales from a time when people thought the world was flat and that killing a goat brought good fortune. I come from a religious family, went through religious schooling from Kindy to Year 12, had to study religious texts as part of it and church was a regular weekend gig. I've done a bit of ethics/philosophy study at undergraduate level and my wife has a Masters in Theology - so the whole religion/bible/Koran topic is a regular one at my dinner table - especially as all my siblings, bar one, are now atheists ...)
