Food and bev.

No one wants to work.

I used to work in a bar. To be honest I loved it. But I realized that I didnt want to be a 50yr old bar attendant when I got older.

The only real issue was a large % of the population are arseholes to people who work in the Hospitality industry.

I am a part time Logistics Engineer. I tell people where to go............

Probably why I was so good at it :)

Now I'm in Quality.

It's the perfect job for me - I get to pick faults in other people's work

if there are positions that can't be filled the market suggests you are not paying enough

Ha ha I kept telling my boss the exact thing...

For the record this is a $100+k position.

Agree. Was at an auction yesterday. 2 bedroom 1 bathroom. No off street parking. Was tiny. No backyard. Sold for 770,000

130,000 over reserve.

Couple in 30's bought it.

To service that you are on 100k+

This has become a very expensive place to live. Tried to convince my wife to move to the coast where we would have less income but also less costs, not interested

That's why I like Brisbane. You can still get a nice small acreage in a semi-rural environment for well under suburban prices in the other 2 big cities, and only 30min drive or 45min ride from the city.

Staff shortages; there are industry shortages in my trade. No one to become staff and even the owners are dropping out of it like flies. Wish it meant I could charge more (that was the plan 15 years ago) but with furniture coming in so cheap now days people are only willing to pay so much before they'll just cop out on their good stuff and buy something that'll only last 5 years, but they can buy 3 of them for what I charge (and 4 for what I should be charging).

You can service that on less. Just have to cut back on the luxury items in life, like bikes, races, and food ;)

Noosa house prices are still low. You can buy 4 bed 2 bath for under 500k. A couple on 50k each can pay it off.

sounds great except for the lack of jobs

But you have to put up with all those Victorians.

$100k is a fair wage in SA. $770,000 would get u a very nice house ( 4 bedroom, double garage with a back yard)

I thought SA had very high unemployment

entrapment can be a useful staff retention strategy

lock em all into mortgages, then encourage breeding

You just want to get there so you can rent a couple rooms out for ridiculous amounts over the race weekend.
