I saw speculation that Maker is possibly 21-22 years old.

Which means he might not bulk up as much as he might if he is 18, so teams would be stuck with a skinny big.

Sixers get their man, it is exciting, now to see if they can add a few more pieces to go around him and off load some of their other bigs.

Lakers should be pretty happy with Ingram, gets interesting after that, could be plenty of trading of picks.

Sixers rumoured to be very active in trying to offlad Okafar for another top 5 pick. Suns were supposed to be interested, but with Chris Marquette on the table still at 4 doubt they will make the trade

Ricky Rubio for some reason was wanting out of the up and coming T'Wolves, they just drafted a point-guard at Pick 5, might be see ya later Ricky.

Anyone got details on the trade that landed the Suns number 8 and Chriss? Looks to be official from Sacremento but can't find any detail on what the Suns gave up

Got the deals on number 8, good move by the Suns. pick 8 for 13 and 28 and a guard that failed to break into the team this year despite both starting guards being out injured

Sixers draft shooting guards at 24 and 26 including the brilliantly named Furkan Korkmaz.

Ha, Boogie Cousins not happy with the Kings ending up with a Centre for that traded Pick 13, he just tweeted 'Lord give me strength'!

Skal Labissiere to the Suns at #28, was consensus Top 3 with Simmons and Ingram before the college season. Might need a season in Europe to build some strength and confidence but could be a good get.

#28 went to the Kings as well, but the players can't be traded until 1 July officially which is why they are showing for the original draft teams still and nothing is being said on Twitter or Instagram by the teams

Warriors have also gone with a centre with pick #30, makes the news of Bogut being trade fodder more interesting

Gary Payton II, not drafted but Rockets to pick him up. Hopefully at some point in his career he'll have the option to play for his Dads main team.

Considering playing style Dirk (heading to free-agency I see) is one of the best big man shooters the game has seen while Simmons is all about getting to the rim or draw and pass.

But yeah he'd take that level of success and longevity.

Bad call by me earlier. More in the style of a Tim Duncan.

Bogut rumour of being traded to New York is interesting, he must have really pissed someone off for them to do that to him

Lebron a free agent.

Will resign with Cav for the 16/17

Full rights in 2017/18 season and will see him a $200 mil 5 yr contract.

Smart move Rich P.

Bogut rumour is either off or very interesting. Noah from the Bulls is being all but reported as moving to the Knicks, so either Bogut is not going or they are loading up with 2 ageing centres

Free Agency opens in just under 24 hours now

Insane money being thrown around, as a certain prime minister may say it is an exciting time to be an NBA free agent.

Dell could just about buy his home town for that sort of money.

Suns signed Dudley for over the odds in my opinion, was kind of hoping that Stoudemire may make a return home to finish his career and mentor the next wave of forwards drafted

Bogut to team up with former GSW teammate David Lee at the Mavs.

Will be interesting to see the public reaction to the KD to GSW move, they've been a lot of people's second team with their exciting playing style and young team that improved together. Now they might be more like the LeBron era Heat that everyone wants to beat.

No sympathy from the Seattle region for the Thunders loss.

Knicks pick up Brandon Jennings on a cheap one year deal, could be an exciting team to watch if they stay healthy.

Tryline, obviously wants rings. 2 year deal, he will be hoping for back to back!

Just a bad look for the league.

GSW are even trying to lure in Ray Allen..... man they are potentially unbeatable, if it works that is.

Interesting to see what Thunder do with Westbrook. One year left on his contract, they don't want him walking away as a free agent next year, either got to extend his deal or trade him (for youngsters and draft picks) this off-season.

Rumour on the Suns sites is there are 3 teams in talks about trades, all with young up and coming guards that are in rebuild phase and looking to increase the tempo of rebuild. Suns are listed as one and have been known to already have been shopping around 2 of their guards (Knight and Bledisloe) as potential trade during draft week. Celtics and Magic are also supposed to be in early talks

I think Celtics are in limbo bigtime, they signed Horford, went all in for Durant, thinking bulking teh front court and using teh current guards (Thomas, Bradley, Smart, Rozier) would be the perfect support act. However, with another First Round draft pick for next year's draft and the capacity to sign another Max contract (which would have been KD's) they have the most options/chips to play with.

Question is, do they trade and change guards, work teh front court or sit out for this trade period and wait for next year's Free Agents....

Man its confusing, NRL and AFL is so much easier to stay with!

If you watched Ray Allen his last 2 years with the Heat, where he did still hit key shots. He did not

have the quickness to stay on the floor and play any kind of defense. Total red hering, if anything

he should try for an assistant coaching job, maybe fill Luke's vacant position.

Yeah i don;t think their intention is to utilise Ray Allen as a big minute player, the top 6-7 players will win them the games.

As they signed David West from Spurs on a low veteran contract, i think they would liek to do teh same with another veteran to keep them lean in terms of the salary cap.

GSW squad is young and could be together for the next 5+ years, room to pay them more and retain them is important.

Ray would just fill the required numbers on teh squad.

Bit of NBA rumour mill from a 'reputable source' for a FRIDAY:

Now that Dwayne Wade has signed with the Chicago Bulls, I bet you Hassain Whiteside might be re-thinking the contract he agreed to with the Heat.

What if he decides topull a DeAndre Jordan and change his mind and sign with a team like the Dallas Mavericks who were offering him the max?

This would mean the Dallas Mavericks wouldn't be able to complete the trade for Andrew Bogut or sign Harrison Barnes to the max.

Which would mean teh Warriors would not have the room to sign Kevin Durant to a max deal.

Which would mean that Dwayne Wade leaving the Heat could set off a chain of events that would prevent Kevin Durant from signing with the Warriors.

Maybe this is what LeBron and Wade were discussing on that private jet they were on together a couple of days ago......

Durrant is officially signed as of a few hours ago, so if the rumours are true than the Warriors are going to have to dump / trade some other players

Reckon Leroy could still go around and show quite a few of the new crop up, that guy seemed to have found the fountain of youth

The 1991/1992 teams used our school gym for weekly training. Always turned up early and shoot around with those of us that showed up, Rucker, Moore, Leroy. Even got occasional free tickets to attend the games at Boondall

Rio teams are finalised, interestingly Australia has the 3rd most NBA listed players in their final squad this year

USA - 12 players

Spain - 7 Players

Australia - 6 Players

Hopefully Bogut stays healthy and we get amongst the medals

Ben Simmons a chance to sit out the NBA season with his foot injury.

76ers have zero luck (some of it self-inflicted with past drafting of known injured players) with their drafting of high-pick tall talent.

Realise they can't/won't push Simmons to rush back but there's a chance all this talent they've tanked to get hold of will be entering free agency before 76ers ever get a chance to use them.

Great to see the Brisbane Bullets back in NBL action last night, and after a slow start they got a win over the champions. Still got Cameron Bairstow to come into the team as well.

New NBA season tips off this week.

Hard to see beyond it ending up being Cavs vs Warriors again. Think both will put more emphasis on getting to the playoffs fit and rested with stars playing fewer minutes and sitting out the odd road trip.

Warriors need Draymond to stay healthy and disciplined.

Tipping Thib's T-Wolves to be the big improvers. Hopefully Delly's Bucks and Dante's Jazz also go well.

Harden vs Westbrook for MVP and scoring titles.

Haha woops, GSW so determined to smash Westbrook's Thunder last night they forgot to save some energy for the game vs Lakers today. GSW lost second game for the season, didn't lose 2nd game til 30 Dec last season.

LA were good, plenty of energy off the bench.

Earlier was first chance I've had watch Knicks this season, surprisingly good in win over Bulls. Plenty of passing, some up tempo play and getting plenty of ball to Porzingis.

So, my saga of websites for getting results continues

yahoosports - kept reverting to either Australia site or not showing the main US sports

EPSN - kept having troubles with the site

Went to bleacher report - now keeps directing me to the UK site so all the headlines are soccer based. When I select the US site version, it tells me "Invalid cookie value" and displays squat.

What can I do to fix this and get back to seeing the sports that matter - ie NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, NCAAB etc?

Lakers appear to have eyed off someone they want to get with draft pick #1 looking at todays results. It gets worse when you look at the Mavs record this season
